Its a pretty powerful tool - Once you get into it you will see all sorts of fun stuff you can play with.

lots of plugins to import tumblr posts, but none it seems to autopost to tumblr, will have to code one up

They give a simple interface to the various APIs and run the rules you create every 15 mins - For example - If there is a new post on this WordPress site post it to Tumblr.

They have a pretty impressive list of APIs to use - Most of the Google stuff, Twitter, FB, any RSS and even SMS for the US.

Have a look at the 'Recipes' - They will give you an idea of what is possible.

AFAIK jetpack plugin lets you post to tumblr, however you need to register a wordpress.com account to do so.
