Malwarebytes, do you purchase?

Is this the service you would want to purchase to help protect your PC?

Anything better?

I've been happy with Symantec's "Endpoint" corporate protection package. Probably not the cheapest; but, I am always pleasantly surprised at what it stops.

I've been using the free version of Malwarebytes and it works excellently. Didn't even know they had a paid version.

Malwarebyte's FREE works quite well and the premium option works better.

:2 cents:

Yup, been using it for several years now. Premium version difference is that it offers real time protection. Detects a lot of stuff, I recommend it.

Kaspersky doesn't like it .had to remove it but I guess it was ok when I had it for a couple years

Killswitch 12-31-2012 01:54 AM

Nope, I don't get spyware, viruses or anything else. I use a Mac.

Marialovesporn 12-31-2012 02:01 AM

Bought it for my windows boxes. It works great and is worth the money.
I use it combined with a virus scanner.

Klen 12-31-2012 02:01 AM

Yes i use premium version with combination of microsoft security essential. But i dont get viruses anyway since noscript stops them.

I have kaspersky for virus protection and I still use malwarebytes. Of course I only use the free version. The one thing I have noticed is if I did get a few mals is that if I run it a second time then it usually picks up a hanger. So I always run it twice.

If you are just using a PC go with Microsoft's security essentials. It's completely free and for reviews it does fairly well in comparison to the other major vendors.
If you are fiddling around all day on questionable sites go with a better vendor, otherwise microsofts own product has done very well.
Also, if you are just browsing different sites just use a linux box, or a live linux on a usb drive.
Power off, garbage gone.

I love the paid version of Malware Bytes. $25 for life (when I bought, might have changed) and it works.

BladeZ 12-31-2012 10:57 AM

Bought it a couple of years ago, never had any problems
