Link Blog Post Photos to FHGs or Tours?
 

Should I link my blog posts to FHGs or tours? I have been steering towards adding from 5 to 15 photos in a post and then linking out to the site tour via a text link or two. However, I have many older posts that link out to FHGs from the one picture in the blog post.

What do you think is better for conversions?

Should I spend the time switching my older FHG linking blog posts to ones with multiple images and some text links to tours?

Build galleries on another site using wordpress, uugallery or any other gallery script, and link your blog posts to that. :)

Link directly to the tour. Every step that takes longer to get to the join page is a step where you can loose people.

Dont go back just to change unless it is just a handful. Always move forward...and I think it depends on the type of traffic you have where you put your links in the post and where they point to...if you are heavy in organic traffic then putting a couple links on the thumbs that point straight to the signup page has worked well for me. Also I found increase in conversions when my text links tell the surfer exacly what he gets on the other side...."Click here to get [insert site name] for just $19.99 per month" as an example.

Isn't this just the same as building a gallery on the blog itself? Why make a post and link to another one of your blogs with the pics? What am I missing please?

Do you recommend using one sample photo or more than one? Have you had good conversions with the one photo? Thanks.

Yes, good advice on the older posts. The majority of my blog traffic is organic. I have never linked directly to the join page, always the tour. Willing to test it out though. I wonder if anyone else here has stated the membership cost in the text link. Thanks.

This, every time. And swap 'can' for 'will'.

Steps are there for a reason. Traffic filtering + preselling/warming up the surfer. Otherwise you would link directly to join page (as tour would be one more "unnecessary" step as well)

I was sending traffic to ND fhg but the campaign wasnt showing up in my stats. They said they only track tours, So I switched to tours.

Almost every sponsor do not show hit count to FHG, thats natural.
