Am surprised they came to one so early; it's only 9:10 PM. They had a couple hours.

Talk about cut it fine -

BBC said one thing and 10 minutes later, NHK said something different.
Probably safe to say they will let us fall over so they can say they rescued us January 2, 2013. Tax increases on the 1st, Congress to the rescue on the 2nd. |

Just a reminder...unless you're in the top 1-2% of earners in this country, nothing will change.
Oh wait, I forgot! that includes every single member of GFY :winkwink: |
They will respect Obama's wishes and go over the cliff!

Planned.
Much better to be the rep or senator who brought down taxes than the one who raised. Devil is in the details. They are counting on everyone drinking and being wasted to not look at this more carefully...I do want to thank them for fucking the retail Christmas season. Nice Job. |
Broken system. I see rating cuts in our future.

Congress has failed us. Again. All of them.

This deal, and the way it is being sold to the public, were packaged and agreed more than a month ago by Obama, McConnel, Reid, Boehner and Pelosi. It's a dog and pony show and the actual deal does virtually nothing. No long term agreement on handling the debt ceiling, no Buffet rule to require wealthy people to actually pay their accurate marginal rates, a 400K threshold that affects less than .6% of the population and disproportionately taxes New York, California and other blue states where earning 400K is not a lot of money rather than adjusting for cost of living....
The deal does nothing to fix the problem of people calling 200 Million carried interest or capital gains paying 13% while someone who actually creates equity in our economy and earns 400K pays close to 40% instead. It sets us up for new retard-showdowns on the debt ceiling every several months and has no automatic mechanical measure to tie spending cuts and tax increases together in a rational way... The whole thing is a sad joke. |
Agree'd Relentless
