Butterbean is a tough dude, but he was fighting a Korean tomato can so he was able to withstand the few leg kicks he absorbed. If he was fighting anyone with talent those "tree trunks" wouldn't have saved him. Bean lost his first MMA fight to Genki Sudo, a guy he outweighed by over 200 pounds, via a heel hook, so I wouldn't put too much faith into big legs being a good defense...

The size difference is massive

This guy has been fighting for a very long time and started out with rough house boxing in bars and dominated from the get go and then went to the early UFC. He was always a good puncher with very good power and good speed for his size.

Proof again that the laws of physics matter. A big guy that can punch and take a punch isn't going to be threatened much by a small guy with little power. Size matters a lot. Thats why there are weight classes.

The Korean guy's kicks were like trying to flick a table - no way that was going to do any damage to someone with like 50 layers of muscle and fat to get through.
