Tea Party had to pay for Fox News to say "good things" about them.

This shows you just how fair and balanced Fox news & their talking heads are.. It seems that the Tea Party was paying Glen Beck $1 million a year to say nice things about them. It started out as $400k then went up to $1 mil and then they had to start paying Rush Limbaugh as well.

I guess now we know why Fox was pushing the Tea Party so much in the past, because their talking heads were making some extra pocket change to do so. The best part is they said it was a bad investment, because they didn't get good returns on the money. :1orglaugh

It also appears that Freedom Works which is yet another right wing group and is heavily affiliated with the Tea Party, is now paying the former co-chairman Dick Armey $400k a year for the next 20 years just so he will go away. :1orglaugh

Keep in mind this money they are using to pay these guys came from donations by their supporters. Yet the same supporters whine about re-distribution of wealth and socialism.

Just so you know, the "tea party" is not one entity or group but they're movements in cities, towns, counties and states across America, they should be easy to find a local one in your area and meet them. they're real people, ordinary people who are fed up with high taxes and big government.

A million or two is nothing for the Koch brothers when they have billions.

JimmyTheGeek 01-05-2013 09:22 PM

For the record...

They paid him to say nice things about them on his RADIO show which is not affiliated with Foxnews. Take a minute to read the article.

Yes, and they are being duped out of their donations that are then mis used, in much the same way the govt that they complain about mis-uses their tax money. This is where the irony comes in. :winkwink:

You really think it was just for his radio show.. I mean really now, you don't think he was expected to support them on Fox as well. :error

Oh then it's good to know that you can only buy Becks opinion on radio and not TV.

Keep in mind it was also Rush Limbaugh that was getting paid, whom ironically enough also had his own radio show and works as a talking head for Fox News.

Not sure if you are aiming for party politics and singling out one network, if so, please extrapolate that to the other networks. If not, my apologies. Either way, thanks for pointing out more info that shows how untrustworthy mainstream news sources are today.

:thumbsup

It's tragic that poor rubes listen to this shit and think they're being "informed".

What I was saying is yea they were officially getting paid via their ratio shows but both also work for Fox news.

So it's very unlikely that a reporter whom is getting a pay check from a political organization is going to be unbiased in their reporting of that political movement while they are on one show or another.

Yup, totally understand that. I just meant that it's not an isolated incident and not confined to one major network, I'm sure. Again, thanks for the info. Good to see some people still have their eyes open and also that they share pertinent info with others.

Thanks.

Yea seems to be isolated to just Beck & Rush so far that both had their own radio shows but also worked for Fox.

JimmyTheGeek 01-05-2013 10:14 PM

Beck may have been biased while doing his show on Fox News based on getting money from the Tea Party for his radio show. I don't dispute this. I think it is pretty dishonest to take cash from anyone and promote them without explicitly making it known to your audience that you are a paid spokesman.

However, there is no evidence that Fox had any knowledge of the payments, so why mention Fox News? It is my observation that Fox has a lot of conservative talking heads on, and a lot of liberal ones too. And left-leaning haters just make mashups of the right-wing bits and try to use it as evidence that fox is in the GOP's pocket.

Rush Limbaugh is a talking head for Fox News?

You must have missed him going apoplectic about how Fox handled the election results in regards to Karl Rove, Charles Krauthammer, Dick Morris and Geraldo Rivera. He also mentioned something about Bill Shine needing a donkey kick to the head for the lack luster Programming over the past 2 years.

You must know of another Rush Limbaugh sucking Keith Rupert Murdoch's dick.

The depiction in the picture you posted is accurate but what does that have to do with the Tea Party? If they are dumb and the picture is correct then you just nullified your own argument.
