Exactly... They share, other people join.

I'm guessing you are having issues because the pre built widgets are just linking to the members area page when the user clicks the share button? ...you can easily fuck with the code to create your own custom link for each button. If this is worth your time then just customize the link to point to a tour page for that specific update....so your member clicks Tweet button from members area and the social media world actually gets a link to tour page instead of link that pops your members area login form.
