Yo Adrian 02-19-2003 02:58 PM

L0stMind 02-19-2003 03:25 PM

sherie 02-19-2003 03:32 PM

Only in error!! I wouldn't consiously leave it unlocked!:warning

ZoiNk 02-19-2003 03:40 PM

I personally lock my doors, but the majority of people I know don't normially, except at nite. During the day the majority of people I know have their doors unlocked.

bauhaus 02-19-2003 03:56 PM

never left the doors unlocked
but I live downtown....there are freaks like elvismanson cruising around..... no real hoods in toronto though.

Nothing that is really scary to walk around in at least

pine 02-19-2003 04:09 PM

Ever been to Jane & Finch? Regent's Park? St Jamestown? Parkdale? Lots of bad areas in T.O. Don't kid yourself.

I live at King and Peter and with all the drunked up college kids stumbling around I wouldn't consider leaving my doors open...some drunk like bathhouse might steal my tv. :winkwink:

Well I did until last weekend when I got my notebook and
camera ripped off... (in Toronto)

My office in London Ontario, I leave unlocked when I step
out for a beer. It's in a slightly better neighbourhood than
where I live in Toronto.

stanton 02-19-2003 04:22 PM

yes i do

stanton 02-19-2003 04:23 PM

Rocky 02-19-2003 04:25 PM

have you ever had hungry, rabid gophers gnawing at your ankles?

anyone who can get to the door deserves what they get inside

which by the way is a house well-stocked with angry, Stephen Takacs trained pedes

Platinum Becky 02-19-2003 04:29 PM

I would never leave my doors unlocked....
I used to live right down the road from Regent Park..(Gerrard and Sherborne) and there was this stinky bum that used to sleep in my stairwell..and sometimes he would knock for hours(mind you he was PISSED drunk).:glugglug

Sometimes in the morning on my way to work I would give him a muffin or some orange juice.:)

Regarding ghetto or no ghetto in Canada..I would have to say that the streets of Vancouver (Hastings especially) are nuts....as far as Toronto goes, we do have some 'bad' areas, but nothing that a street smart person could not handle...and our ghettos dont go on for 100 blocks like they do in NY City for example.

I think we live in a pretty safe place..no worry of being killed by leaving the door unlocked...just dont want creepy strangers in our houses:thumbsup

I live at the borderline of HighPark/Parkdale, and you know what? It is not that bad!! I can walk home from the Bovine if I chose to and not worry about anything....And I also live in an area where I wouldn't worry too much about leaving my door unlocked, I leave my windows open all the time, not to worried about it:2 cents:

SilverTab 02-19-2003 04:31 PM

Depends on what you mean....In the day, yeah of course I don't lock my doors...at night tough...even tough we're in Canada, there's thieves and burglars in every country I guess!!....

BTW just saw the movie yesterday....I tought it was a kick ass documentary.... Can you believe they give guns in a bank when you open an account? fuckin unbelievable!

Yep I agree Hun:) That is exactly what I am saying:)

Dveron 02-19-2003 04:39 PM

During the day I do and when I go do laundry or jet to the shop round the block but you basically can't do dick in my apartment block without a specific keycard and the elevator will only go to the floor the apartment is on plus 24hr concierge watching everybody :thumbsup

Aly-Python 02-19-2003 04:40 PM

I used to leave my car unlocked outside my house in Toronto, but only because they buggered-up the door breaking into it EVERY NIGHT!

:BangBang:

schilli 02-19-2003 05:26 PM

The last time I left my doors unlocked someone came in and drank all my beer eh.

Fuck -- you walk home from the Bovine?! That's far!

Next time you can share a cab with me if ya want!

Nysus 02-19-2003 05:29 PM

It's pretty stupid if you don't lock your door. 80% of thieves will move on to the next house if the door is locked...

I lock my door... Plus I have my dog, so she'd scare the shit out of anyone she doesn't know.. :)

Cheers,
Matt
