At first I disliked Brody's son the most. What a p*ssy!
But then into the 2nd season Brody's daughter surpassed the son in gaining my antipathy.

I don't care for the kids either, but the show is otherwise fantastic. Usually don't get into TV shows but I'm hooked on this one.

They just announced Season 3 starts Sept 29th!

They are there for filler. That show is top notch. I watched both seasons in 3 days.
