Sounds a bit misleading when they say "US Soldiers were poisoned" which implies it was intentional as if they were gassed.

Holy shit though... Seems like these guys were living in the shit. They were using bags of the stuff to protect themselves from the wind, and the wind was pushing this stuff all around. To add injury to insult, looks like KBR doesn't care what the fines are because they'll just pass it over to the taxpayers anyhow. Nice. Companies like this shouldn't be in business.

Damn. It's just amazing the shit people get away with or pay small fines for abroad.

I really feel bad for the soldiers, especially those in the Guard who got shipped over there. Though they did sign up of their own free will, it's still a raw deal.

When people snap and go on killing sprees, be it in a theater, school or mall, they are clearly targeting the wrong people. There are so many businessmen who deserve lead but never get it. Instead they pay tiny fines for ruining families. $85 million to them is probably a slap on the wrist, and with 830 people exposed to this poison, it's peanuts when you break it down on a per person level.

KBR was a subsidiary of Halliburton but now they jumbled stuff around to dodge this and that. ie Dick Chaney's involved so they will just get slap on wrist and it will all get blown over.

Honestly I've said this for a long time.. If people are going to go on a shooting rampage, why can't they pick better targets and at least do the world a favor when they go out.
