I don't know if watching this movie will answer, but it might give you a little more perspective .



This is one fucked up movie, by the way -- and it'll make you wonder if people are born with chemical inbalances that can make them bad, or maybe the mother did a bad job -- or maybe a little of both.

I read that book and thought it was a nasty piece of work. Well done, but nasty. It didn't exactly give me nightmares, but it was very unsettling.

Born with tendencies, of varying degrees, environment plays a huge role.

Single biggest predictor of religiousness is what the parents are. It's probably the same with many other aspects that aren't as obvious.

I think there are a very small number of people who are just born bad. They have mental issues from birth, but I think that is a pretty small number of people. Most people are products of their environment. If you beat and abuse a kid chances are they are going to grow up and do the same. When bad shit happens to you it often causes you to respond in some way or another and normally that response is not a good one. It doesn't mean you will be violent, but you could still be a bad person and not be violent.

Born bad. 100% fact. Evil is in the bloodstream. We all lie from time to time. We all have our little vices. Justifications. Excuses. Prejudices. Pride. Greed. Lust. Deceit.

Even with perfect parents and perfect childhoods we'd still fuck up now and then. Can't stop it.

it can go either way. some people are born with mental issues, some become crazy through life...

Take 1000 kids from bad families and 1000 kids from good families and you will see that first group would be more bad, so my vote goes for not born bad, but became bad.
