Who cares about this Lance Armstrong crap

I'm a huge sports fan, I can't think of any sport that means less to me than bicycle racing - it's always weird dudes who get involved in it with their tight faggy shorts and bulging thighs and the stupid looking helmet. Who watches that? Nobody. Oh, the French. So who cares whether Lance Armstrong doped, didn't dope, admits to doping or anything about him?

Think of all the sports a kid has to choose from - basketball, football, soccer, hockey, snowboarding, wakeboarding, golf etc etc - all fun, playing and competing with and against other kids. What kind of kid says 'I want to ride my bike as fast as I can as long as I can every day until I'm 40 years old all by myself until my thighs are so big I can't buy pants that fit!'

AllAboutCams 01-16-2013 04:47 AM

golf - sport ?

I say let all athletes take roids and turn into humongous, gigantic cyborg, musclebound barbarians and beat the shit out of each other. I think that would make for some good entertainment.

sojproductions 01-16-2013 05:05 AM

I don't give a shit about it, nearly all of them cheated back then so it was technically a level playing field, why single him out. He's done a lot of good too, bitter fuckers on a witch hunt.

BaliPimp 01-16-2013 05:35 AM

I like to see bike wrecks actually

v4 media 01-16-2013 05:35 AM

I like watching the big tours, mainly because the guy on Eurosport is a great commentator.
He explains strategy, but also says things like.. 'right watch this bit in about a minute there's this great restaurant where I had a lovely steak'

The tour of Spain has come straight past my house a few times, interesting to watch live.

scottybuzz 01-16-2013 05:35 AM

confessing to oprah?

Looks like his last desperate attention grab.

I think he is in full damage control mode. There was talk about his sponsors suing him to get money back and other people who he attacked while defending himself against their accusations coming after him legally now that the truth is out.

I have a feeling he is hoping if he comes clean and apologizes some of those people will forgive him and not come after him.

Excellent idea and I'd be willing to work a split with you on the concession!

ottopottomouse 01-16-2013 06:14 AM

Race Across America is more interesting that the Tour de France - just over a week of non-stop riding with no sleep.

tony286 01-16-2013 06:17 AM

I dont care either, I guess people feel lied to and he was this model of you can do anything. They cut off his nuts to cancer and he still won it. People dont realize steroids are a tool, if you dont do the work. They do nothing.

arock10 01-16-2013 06:25 AM

Yea golf is more fun and exciting then riding a bicycle at 40-60mph neck and neck with other cyclists

For excitement I reccomend rush hour bicycle riding and playing lets see how many cars can I beat

Lastly, baseball players should require all their players to take steroids

Dumbshit should have moved his funds to a safe haven, split the USA to a country with no extradition and told them all to go fuck themselves.

He had it made and then pussied out.

Overall, the guy has done WAY more good than bad. There's a lot of people with cancer who would look at this whole situation differently.

Choopa_Pardo 01-16-2013 07:15 AM

All the other top riders of the Armstrong era were doping too. It took elite riders and made them Gods.

I could care less about bike racing. Everyone knew he was doping but no one could prove it. What he did was horrible - no need to be the best, just dope up instead. he should be banned from ever competing again on any level and shunned by the entire industry.

MrBottomTooth 01-16-2013 10:23 AM

I dont understand why they are making such a big deal about it. Ufc fighters get caught doping all the time and the most they end up with is a 6 month suspension and a small fine.

Supz 01-16-2013 10:49 AM

Althought biking is not a big deal like baseball, or football. this particular guy was on the main stage. He was the star of the show and much more then just a bicyclist.

JP-pornshooter 01-16-2013 10:51 AM

Mutt, in Europe cycling is very very big, the tours yes and also cycling at the olympics and other events.
Armstrong did a lot for the sport to gain popularity in the US where (in california) more people bike now than ever before, many in full gear cycling for hours on end.
Many of Armstrongs closest allies were betrayed by him, he was always the cant do anything wrong type guy (in his own eyes). Many are very happy to see him go down.
Tour de France has suffered immensely by doping scandals the last decade, but there are rules and there are riders who follow the rules.

I am pretty sure UFC is more or less on the same level as WWE.

Bicycle racing is more along the lines of horse racing and polo. More "elite" if you know what I mean. All of that Euro-shit is.

A lot of people seemed to care when the rest of the world said that he must be doped. At that time it was like blasphemy. :2 cents:

Supz 01-16-2013 01:04 PM

This is also like talking about Tiger Woods missteps. I dont watch golf, neither do most. The people who like golf like golf, just like the people who like biking like biking..

georgeyw 01-16-2013 02:46 PM

They should have let it go, digging it all up has only harmed the sport. If nothing was said then it would not matter at all.

All these sponsors looking to sue Lance are just looking to dip into the honey pot twice. They got their brand out there with him when they sponsored him initially and now are receiving more attention due to legal threats.

I'm not a fan of the cycling at all and don't understand it at all - each to their own!

With re to golf being a sport - yes einstein it is a sport.

He was still the best, he just doped like the rest. Literally 90% of the top 5 of the Tour de France every year he won were tainted by doping. They all doped

GrantMercury 01-16-2013 03:13 PM

I thought all this shit came out over the Summer. Suddenly we're hearing about it all over again.

It has been theorized that he most likely caused or accelerated the growth of the cancer by taking PEDs. So he may have lost one of his nuts essentially for millions of dollars. Was it worth it? Would you give up one of your nuts for millions?

2013 01-16-2013 03:29 PM

I could give a fuck less about this guy. :rasta

I sure hope they don't forgive him. He ruined a lot of lives over the years and deserves a serious dose of karma.

I agree. Had he just denied the accusations it would be one thing, but he destroyed people's careers and credibility to cover up his lies. If I were someone who he destroyed during his cover up you can damn sure bet I would be seeking a little payback.

Move over Ben Johnson - Lance Armstrong's stealing your endorsement contract.

He's a piece of shit. Left his wife when she was diagnosed with cancer. He thinks he's above everyone. I have a friend that did not take his advances at a club here in TO. He got all pissy with her and pulled the "don't you know who I am?" Lol.

ColBigBalls 01-16-2013 06:42 PM

Sorry who ?

Adam_M 01-16-2013 08:55 PM

They all still take it, they just don't like going after the ones still making them money :2 cents:

Redrob 01-16-2013 09:28 PM

As I understand the situation, he has to confess, apologize and ask for forgiveness. Then, they will reinstate his ability to race again. I bet that is what he really wants.....to race again.

He might want that, but I think he is also working to make sure he holds on to the millions of dollars he has earned. If the lawsuits start flying he could spend his fortune on lawyers and settlements.

Exactly Kane. It isn't about future athletic endeavors, it's about protecting his money.

Always follow the money. Especially when it comes to world class narcissists like armstrong

It will be interesting to see how he defends the upcoming flood of lawsuits from people whose lives he ruined in his vain attempt to deny reality.
