PAXUM let me send $1000 to an unregistered account by mistake

I sent $1000 by mistake to the wrong email address which is not associated with any paxum account.

To make a long story short, paxum took $1000 from my account, and sent an email to this email address saying I sent them $1 dollar

Where the hell did $999 go???

PAXUM HELP! (I SENT YOU AN EMAIL IN THE SYSTEM!)

How do you know the receiver isn't pulling a fast one?

Harmon 01-16-2013 09:23 AM

It sucks when fees are high. Fees should not use drugs.

Back in the day paypal would let you send money to an unregistered account (unsure if they do now) so it doesn't sound out of the picture that paxum would allow it also. There is actually some good uses for this and paypal got to hook in new customers with money waiting for them!

Paypal has also had number mis-matches happen. It's funny how the mis-matches ALWAYS happen in their favor... Good way to combat this is to screen shot the money sent confirm page, and immediately pull up the receipt page and print that also.

Good luck with clearing up this current issue!

They still do.

The email address the payment was sent to gets an invitation to sign up to paypal to receive the payment which is what I would have expected paxum to do too.

How do you know Paxum sent the wrong addressee $1 email?

Yes it is. It says he GOT AN EMAIL SAYING THAT HE SENT A DOLLAR. It says no where that someone actually got a dollar.

Oh I see. You assume a copy was sent to the sender.

I don't use Paxum. So there you go.

Lykos 01-16-2013 01:00 PM

Am sure it will be fixed asap:)

ContentPimp 01-16-2013 01:40 PM

it is just a bug in the system, i was able to send funds to a non-existant paxum account, anyway they are helping reverse the funds..thx

he obviously doesnt know the person with the wrong email address. I am also pretty sure he did not email that address asking if they got an email. most likely if its a typo that email address wont even exist.
