Should I Make a Custom Tube-Site or a Niche Specific?
 

Hello, me and a friend are working together to start our first adult website. At first we wanted to make a custom tube site and make it for all genres like spankwire, redtube etc.

We know we will have to work atleast 1 year to 2 years to even see profit and were fine with that.

But i wanted to ask if we should go for the big area or if we can still make the same amount of money is smaller niches? Like Hentai?

Try to make niche sites. You'll make more with advertising specific ads and lower amount of visitors.

Instead of focus on one big tube you could make like 5 good niche tubes. Also pick a niche you like!

Personally I'm not a Hentai fan but if you are into it then it will be more enjoyable. Building a niche tube will bring you quicker results in organic traffic as it could take many years to top the massive sites that are already in place. Also it will be easier to weed through all the uploaded crap that people attempt to put on your tube if uou are specific to one niche.

I removed it from my sig as it's been paused for over a month as I was doing tests, and will be taking it in a different direction. But thanks for your concern on my business affairs. :thumbsup

I have a generic tube site using sponsor content that I keep running for shits and giggles. My number one and number two categories are Fatties and Trannies. Not plumpers - outright fat woman. Fat old women.

To summarize, your response is to downplay the importance of creating something unique, showing something not unique just a couple weeks prior, and it is now stale (as you say *paused*).

Nah, it just bugs the fuck out of me when people preach building something unique and not to recreate the wheel, yet we're in an industry that sees something unique and 2 weeks later, everyone and their mother had copied that idea... The tube scraper was a test, solely built for one reason, for me to see if it was true that sites like largeporntube.com which does nothing but indexes every tube out there and sends the users off to it, are indeed loved by Google, and with my 3 hours of work on it, my assumptions so far are pretty correct.

Now I have decided to actually do something with that site, build a real tube out of it and bring something most tubes don't to the table.

And it took only a few hours because all it does is view source on a couple of sites, and parses the data to grab the info and then display it... Not rocket science and anybody who knows how to program can do it pretty quickly. Not my fault it takes you 7 hours to figure out how to pull data from a database.

We've seen people have better luck with niched sites. People look for specific porn, not just "porn"
