Did you get a flu shot this year?

I'm thankful that I never get the flu but I did get a flu shot today. This strain is a powerful one, seems to be getting worse. So many thousands of people dropping with it.The only time I would consider a slight risk is I do venture out to get supplies and mingle once a week in order to mate :pimp
So many opinions to get it or not.but this year seems to be one of the worse. It's worldwide and there is nothing stopping it to be getting worse.healthy or not,I get it regardless

Yngwie 01-18-2013 11:26 PM

I never get it and never will.

epitome 01-18-2013 11:29 PM

I didn't and my flu lasted from the Thursday after Christmas until last week. I still have a nagging cough.

Should have gotten it... I don't not because I am a conspiracy theorist about them but because I rarely get sick from bugs. Regretting it now.

GrantMercury 01-18-2013 11:35 PM

Nope. I'm not really putting the vaccine down, but I don't get it. I believe strongly in common sense precautions (frequent, thorough hand washing and keeping hands away from the face), and keeping the immune system strong through diet, exercise, sleep, and supplements. In addition to a good multi, get a couple grams of vitamin C (sustained release) each day, and a high-potency garlic supplement. Zinc lozenges seem to be helpful, too, although they taste fucking awful. :throwup

Spunky 01-18-2013 11:37 PM

I'll add a poll..I like Vics Vapo rub when I get the sniffles :) for 20 bucks it's well worth it,it is distributed for free to the elderly and low immune system people

BIGTYMER 01-18-2013 11:50 PM

Nope. Poison.

Smut 01-19-2013 12:13 AM

Never got the flu shot, and never will. I get a cold / flu about once every 3 years. It lasts for up to a week, but not usually longer than that.

ColBigBalls 01-19-2013 12:30 AM

No. Got sick and better off for it!:anon

Vapid - BANNED FOR LIFE 01-19-2013 12:44 AM

The Big Farmer is Sowing his Seeds of Disease; Disease is his Crop.

Surprised to see you fell for it Spunky, looks like the propaganda and fear did it's job on eventually.

Anyway, I hope the vaccine doesn't cause any serious disease in you, especially as you're a good guy!

Add avoiding children and parents with children if you can. Every person I know with kids has someone in the family sick as a dog.

No .

seeandsee 01-19-2013 07:16 AM

never, maybe when i get older but now i dont need all the side toxin inside vaccine. Yes it will help to not get flu, but it will poison me with other shit... Kids should also recivie vaccines to prevent something bad happens.

bronco67 01-19-2013 07:32 AM

Yes, but only because I have a 2 week old new niece that I see occasionally. Otherwise I could give a fuck.

Thats weird, i havent heard of thousends of people dying from flu in holland this year. Where did you find this conspiracy theorie?

sperbonzo 01-19-2013 08:19 AM

Never had a flu shot, and almost never get sick... maybe once every 5 years or so.

Many people I know only get sick AFTER they get a flu shot.

So..... No. I'm not getting a flu shot, and I think that people who do are the ones living on the edge....

SilentKnight 01-19-2013 08:30 AM

Most years that I got the flu shot...I got the flu. So, no flu shot this year.

I work outdoors through much of the winter, and I'm convinced the fresh, cold air helps boost the natural immune system.

I also use the Purel dispensers constantly at our City Hall where I work as an added measure.

AllAboutCams 01-19-2013 08:40 AM

I thought the flu shot was for old people

Hank_Heartland 01-19-2013 08:56 AM

I didn't get a flu shot and I am fine. My wife got a flu shot and she was in intensive care from Friday 11th until Thursday 17th...She's still in hosp but will hopefully come home Monday or Tuesday:thumbsup

Roald 01-19-2013 09:09 AM

Never got one. Almost never got the flu either.

Obviously I don't hope you all get the Flu and die, one of you I actually like... but it would serve you right.

This is where I get serious - Get the jab because the stats say it is better.

Ignore the prat that sneezed when he got the shot - He just sneezed!!!

The flu is a serious debilitating illness - Most of you that think you have had the flu have not.

A good test - If you can type on a keyboard that you "Think I Have The Flu" have not got it. You are too sick to type if you have the flu.

Trust me on this - If you have been advised to have the jab you should have it.

I know I am an asshole - but I am an asshole who knows what they are talking about on this subject.

Vapid - BANNED FOR LIFE 01-19-2013 09:21 AM

Actually, if you live in the USA your immune system is most likely shit compared to mine.

If you have not been out of the USA I can guarantee that I am immune to MILLIONS of things that you are not.

If you are told you should have a flu jab you should have it.

TurboAngel 01-19-2013 09:59 AM

I didn't so I did get the flu lasted 2 weeks.

:(

F-U-Jimmy 01-19-2013 10:11 AM

Never had a flu shot, but im sitting here with a cold. Doubt its the flu just a nasty cough. I think it helps boost the immune system getting the odd cold now and again ?

GFED 01-19-2013 10:12 AM

No, there are so many natural ways to boost your immune system. Why would anyone attribute themselves with this poison?

MediaGuy 01-19-2013 10:12 AM

Whether you get the shot or not makes no difference in whether you get the flu or not.

Flu infection rates don't change regardless of how many get vaccinated.

At best, people who get the shot may experience symptoms for one or two days less than those who do not.

It's a vaccine, not a cure.

You can check with CDC, but in years where they get it wrong and people get a vaccine for another strain, flu rates don't change. It's virtually irrelevant.

Two years ago my mom got the shot for the new strain, and it gave her a bad reaction - swollen arm, dizziness, etc....

Then she got the flu.

Last year, they refused to give her the booster because of that bad reaction.

She didn't get the flu.

This year, no shot, but she got the flu and was bed-ridden for four days.

I say her immune system is probably stronger now than it was any year she was infected and it will probably protect her - naturally, organically - to the day she dies.

Short answer: No.

:D

he didn't mean dying when he said dropping. though there are a number of deaths each year from the flu they aren't anywhere near 1000's. its typically old people with compromised immune systems who die.

iamkathi 01-19-2013 10:53 AM

I don't get the flu shot. I never get the "flu". What I got was Bronchitis which the shot would not help.

Maybe next season...

Jman 01-19-2013 10:55 AM

Been taking shark liver oil for the last 6 years, never been sick with a killer flu and never got the flu shot.

AnimeFevers 01-19-2013 10:58 AM

For the first time ever I didn't and I've been more unhealthy than I've ever been LMFAO, funny how things work out..

Total bull shit.

Ignoring all the other crap - You are not bed ridden for 4 days with the flu.

She had a bad cold.

If she had the flu it would be 11 - 14 days.

Now you will go and find the Wiki that tells me I am wrong - OK.

There are 2 maybe 3 people here that know I am right on this one subject. The rest is bull :)...

If you have been told you need a flu jab this year have it now - You will thank me later.

Did m(any) people get colds/flu at the InterNext/AVN shows this year?

One thing I dislike about attending conventions, is sick people still often attend since they already have tickets, and then they end up spreading their illness.

http://failblog.files.wordpress.com/...thing-fail.jpg

I'm allergic to sulfa drugs, and have a messed up auto-immune system, so no flu shots for me, just heaps of precaution (I rarely shake hands, and I carry a handkerchief for opening doors, touching rails, etc).

Fortunately, by just taking simple precautions, I am able to avoid catching a flu for years at a time, because I am practically incapacitated whenever I do become sick, and it can take my body a few months to fully recover.

Not sure what it's like in Holland, but thousands of people here in Canada have been affected, probably a few death related too. This pub I go to about 12 servers and bartenders all came down with it at Christmas, highly contagious strain. I've been lucky as I might get a couple colds every year but never the flu. just seems to be one of the top stories on the evening news the last few weeks

Some Guy 01-19-2013 02:58 PM

I had the flu last month and it kicked the shit out of me. First time I've had the flu in six or seven years. I was laid out in bed for a good ten days. I still have a lingering cough that won't fucking go away. Kind of wishing I had gotten a flu shot since the flu does seem to be getting more powerful. I was so sick I actually thought I might die. I'll probably get a flu shot at some point this year.

hell yeah I got a flu shot. And I also get a pneumonia shot every 5 years as well. I have a fucked up immune system and I would do it again too. No flu for me
