Cherry BBQ Sauce

1 slice bacon rendered, 1/2 small onion diced and added, 1 small bag cherries pitted and added... when soft, 1 cup apple juice, 1 small can tomato paste, 1/2 cup maple syrup, 1/4 cup brown sugar, dash garlic and onion powder, dash cinnamon, 1 whole vanilla bean, 3 caps liquid smoke... dash black pepper and pinch salt. simmer on low 1 hour, take out vanilla bean and use hand blender to blend.

into the refrigerator for 3 days. pull out and put on stove, on low add 1 small bag pitted cherries, simmer 1 hour...

think this is pretty good stuff the measurements are close I think...

I prefer just salt and pepper but that doesn't sound bad at all.

I mean to make normal BBQ sauce

now I have some chicken breast for the grill ready to go.... pinch of smoked salt, black pepper, drizzled with a splash whisky maple syrup, VOO, and basaltic vinegar...

and my fav: a 'slight' dusting of chocolate habanera powder... gotta be careful that stuff for sure :thumbsup

I'll let that sit for a few hours and then put it on the grill, not directly... on some foil with a splash of fruit juice... and mostly bake the breast off to the side...

sure if you want but I would add more spices without the cherries, it's easy to overwhelm the cherry flavor so you need to pull back on stuff... :2 cents:
