Today, gun rights advocates across the country participated in events and visited gun shows to commemorate what?s being calling Gun Appreciation Day. We?ve already pointed out the tone deafness of choosing to honor guns on a weekend we celebrate murdered civil rights leader, Martin Luther King Jr.

Proponents of Gun Appreciation Day recommend participants:

?go to your local gun store, gun range, or gun show with a copy of the Constitution, their American Flags and ?Hands off my Guns? signs.

Apparently organizers should have advised them to bring body armor, too.

In three separate incidents at three gun shows ? including one right here in Ohio ? five people were shot on Gun Appreciation Day.

Who was behind the three incidents? Odd aren't for that just happening.. and it's an interesting time for it.

And if it was automobile appreciation day I'm sure a few would die driving there too.

Not to defend them just because I own guns but let's get real. No matter what people do they have accidents. People fall off ladders, slip in the bathtub, wreck cars, start kitchen fires, fall from balconies, drown while swimming, etc, etc.

It would be impossible to get thousands of average citizens together doing the same thing and not have some do something stupid.

Safety Sallys have no idea about guns. They run to the government that loves them for protection. Then cry about lost lives when nobody could defend themselves in the first place.
