Parents/media....

Welcome to the results of the new PC, narcissistic world we've created for ourselves where everyone has the right to be themselves without being judged. 20 years ago, everyone would say "hey, get your fucking shit together, your kid is insane... get him help and keep him the fuck away from me". Today, .... well... can't judge. Can't call it like it is. Can't demand better of people. Can't blame anyone. Hence, the growing problem of insane people doing insane shit.

Drugs or previous mental issue. No doubt.

Thats quite a stretch to say "drugs made him do it". What "drugs" would he be on that would cause psychotic episodes if he wasn't already seriously disturbed emotionally? If he was already disturbed emotionally, why isn't that enough to say "ok, i get it". There is never a story about this kind of thing where it wasn't eventually revealed that the kid was very troubled and all the warning signs were there.

Can't we just get back to the world where we blame people for their behavior, negligence and stupidity,... instead of blaming "things"?

ottopottomouse 01-21-2013 09:25 AM

Being home schooled must be terrible isolation and make you a bit weird.

alex.missyouth 01-21-2013 09:27 AM

Fuck, Why did he shoot his family? Shooting strangers is one thing but killing your 5 and 2 year old sisters is a whole new level of insanity.

2013 01-21-2013 09:29 AM

if his sisters were armed this wouldnt have happened

Isn't that 'cause they prefer to hold up liquor stores and do drive-by shootings though?

Why waste a round on a family member when they can just beat them instead.

A few years back we had some neighbors who had kids who were home schooled. They were the strangest fucking kids ever. They were fucking loopy.

I heard that's pretty much the only way to look after your kids in the US, otherwise they've got to get poisoned with 40 or 50 toxic jabs. :2 cents:

i don't buy that. mental health was a bad word 20-30 years ago. if you wanted help you were looked at as crazy and weak. now its acceptable that if you have problems, you should seek help. problem is if you don't have insurance and most likely if you don't, you can't afford any kind of mental health care. medicare only pushes pills, thats not mental health care.

My father died when I was nine months old; My mother eventually remarried to a man from Belgium who barely spoke English. I did not grow up in a warm and loving household. There was no love, and my mother and step father barely paid any attention to what I did growing up. My kid has been involved in sports now for the past six or seven years and I had to miss my first competition ever because of Vegas and I'm crushed, meantime my parents only went to one basketball game ever. I grew up surrounded by firearms, and left home when I was sixteen and never looked back.

Not once did I ever think of this.

baddog 01-21-2013 12:53 PM

You are right. Fifteen year kid kills both parents and all of his brothers and sisters and we won't remember it a week from now. Sad.

Right, it's not drugs, it's being prescribed the wrong drugs or never really addressing the underlying cause.

The reality is some people need to be institutionalized. Instead they are getting a zoloft prescription and are told all will be well again.

Don't know what it's like in America but most of the asylums here have been closed and turned into housing estates - someone decided it would be a good idea to have the mentally ill just wandering about everywhere being dangerous.

some people cant handle life without family structure. some people that are picked on become hardcore killers. :2 cents: people that never were violent or in trouble. I know where you coming from with the fam stuff.

Been happening since the beginning of Time....

My step sister moved to a new town and found a Very Cheap house, that was on the market for over a year.
They found out a 17 year old son came home, slit the moms throat, Knifed his brother and sister and then went and shot his dad who was sleeping. He then climbed in the attic and slit his own throat and shot himself in the chest (not sure what order)

No one had any idea why, so the story goes.... 1980 ish

We share almost the same story.
My dad died when i was 11.
Step mom had adopted me.
Real mom was a drunk died when I was 12
Step mom married abusive step dad, who would hit me with the buckle end of the belt.
I had guns in my room on the wall. I did think about using the guns in case the beatings got to bad for me or my younger sisters.

Joined the military at 17.
But hey, never killed anyone except who we were at war with....
