Ideal for the homeless who get to build and live inside rent-free Igloos

Crazy.

Yet when we get a tiny bit of snow here, the place grinds to another embarrassing halt...

It's because a lot of people in the UK still get paid when they can't get to work; snow is an ideal excuse not to show up. :2 cents:

Yes, but the transport system just goes into meltdown. Which gives people a good excuse most of the time anyway...

Spunky 01-21-2013 11:07 AM

I blame it on Global warming

It did do the other day for me when it started snowing as I was driving up towards the M6; one accident and that was it the traffic came to a standstill. Where I live by the coast, most the time we don't get the snow, I can see it on the hills in the distance.

Tooo much for me thats for sure.

BumpUglyz 01-21-2013 11:37 AM

Go look at a map - do you realize how huge a country Russia is? What cities/areas are those pictures from?

XSAXS 01-21-2013 11:41 AM

This proves Global Warming.

Mutt 01-21-2013 11:42 AM

"While the snowstorms have caused inconvenience for large population centers in western Russia, they have been life-threatening further east in the country. The polar circle city of Norilsk has been buried under 10 feet of snow ? entire apartment blocks, markets, stores and offices were buried under snow overnight."

those photos are from a city in the POLAR CIRCLE!

Moscow got 10 inches of snow, no big deal.

I'm aware how big Russia is, which is why I asked if "Any one else see this? Or live in Russia?" to compare where THEY are at, and where this took place on Norilsk.

The motorways around here usually stay clear the longest just from the amount of traffic.
