TGP style tour?

I am just about to start the design for a new paysite and i find myself wondering if the tgp style tour works or if its only good to offer as a secondary tour for the few that want to try it with their traffic..

In case you dont know what i am talking about its something like this: http://www.babesnetwork.com/tgp/

How would a tour like this preform compared to a normal tour like we see on almost every other site out there ?

Test it and find out.

There is literally no point asking people's opinions on this. The only answer is test both and see which works best.

Its 'tube' style not TGP style and yes, they work, there is a reason every site now uses that type of layout.

In my experience, when using standard style tours vs. tube style, I've seen an increase in clicks to the join page on tube style tours with next to no increase in actual information submits vs. standard tour styles.

I still use them though as if you get a surfer to the join page quicker, they may end up becoming a member quicker.

Well i kind of disagree on that one - i could and probably will test it out on my own BUT there are guys and girls out there that have already done so and hearing their take on the subject could be interesting so its a bit early for /thread ;)

Tons of links everywhere clicking to the join page doesn't equal joins. Putting people on the join page before they are ready will just lead them to close the window and go elsewhere.

omg, why can't I go to the video?

Not when it's pretty much standard practice for this type of tour style.

If you re-read what I said, I never said you'd get more joins, in fact, I actually said people get to the join page quicker, but there wasn't really a noticeable difference in actual information submits, a.k.a joins.

Yep and ones mans traffic may not convert for another.

Test and test again.

Bottom line: It depends on the traffic you are sending.

Blog surfers like to READ (something, anything) so put a lot of (original) text on tours for them...

Tube surfers are "pre-sold" by watching the vid on the tube so send them to a thumb-heavy tour that gets them to Join ASAP...

TGP surfers like to bounce around, that's the nature of endless free links, so get something sticky on a tour for them, so they stick around....

On and on. Depends on the traffic/surfer we're talking about here.
