I knew that I could make a ton of money if I was able to figure out how to run multiple instances of the desktop software... or if I had multiple machines or something... but aside from that, I was fairly clueless. What was the method people were using? |

Visit chat after chat, collect emails, mail. Rinse and repeat 1000's of times a day. Sales of $5k/day were easy back then. |

I think I will be sticking with Windows 7 for awhile...I might eventually buy Windows 8 but I will have to download one of those programs that brings back the Start menu.

I don't miss having to deal with the sheer stupidity of AOL-based members on our sites. I swear the average IQ of an AOLer was in the 20s.
Their signup CDs made great drink coasters, though. :1orglaugh |
I had a subscription to AOL in 1996 for about three months. Could never dial in. Never got my money back... Switched to iDirect in early 1997.
And that's the truth. PFFFT!!! |
True but lame...

CompuServe Rocks!!!

I had a buddy who used those things for drink coasters as well. Totally forgot about that until your post. Too funny! |

I actually made a few scrollers for aol back in the day, for OH, internal, and guide accounts. All cracked of coarse.
One was called Holocaust, the other was called Second Style. AOL is the reason I got into adult. |
Does anyone like Windows 8?
|
AOL = LOL :2 cents:
|
Collect peoples email address from chat. Mail to good addresses.
Set it up to be smart 1.0 and keep track of which kind of chat they are into and get demo graphic info like gender, age, etc... Set it up to be smart 2.0 and get topics they talk about... Beta = $100 to $200 a day 1.0 = $250 to $800 a day 2.0 = Solid gold bricks shitting out of your ass. |

Thx for that, it made my day. :thumbsup
For the record... Microsoft is goin' down! |
AOL was the most exploitable ISP in the history of the world. Also, they had so many crooked employees that would steal screen names and billing info. I saw it all first hand.
|
those were the days, i remember i used to make money with alladvantage....

AOL was a pure gold mine for a lot of people for a very long time. But like we've seen in a lot of the internet booms and busts, they eventually tend to run their course. Although there still seems to be plenty who use AOL IM and email accounts for whatever reason.
As they say, the only constant is change. Plan accordingly. :2 cents: |
