I finally upgraded from ICQ 2003b
For many years... make that a decade I resisted upgrading my ICQ. I needed my history. I often go back into it to find shit. Reference shit. Today I said fuck it and upgraded to ICQ 8.
Very nice. Web ICQ is nice too. Getting on from anywhere to hit up somebody for a few minutes. |
Well, congrats :)
|
Did you finally upgrade from you AOL email account to Yahoo as well?
|
I only use web icq.... can't believe people use this when there's skype and other more better stuff.

The new version isn't bad at all though. :thumbsup |
I upgrades from AOL 2.0 to Windows 8.0 and it seems like nothing changed.

I'm still using ICQ 2001b believe it or not on my brand new Win 7 laptop because it imported all my history and works fine.
|
ICQ should spend about 10K on a programmer to create a script to import any ICQ version database into ICQ 8. Then everyone would upgrade.

All the cool kids have it

2003b to me is the ugliest version of ICQ
ICQ 8 is actually a very nice update, much better than what they've been putting out in years |
I switched to pidgin a long time ago, no ads like the icqs, and you can chat on various protocols it rocks :)
|
ICQ 8 doesn't seem to have ads either.
|
Icq 8 rocks
|
I have been using some 3rd party ICQ/AIM/Etc for like 7 years now... No problems with upgrading.
Currently using Adium 1.5.4 on Mac OS X 10.7.5 :thumbsup |
ICQ is so 1999. I have managed to move everyone I care to interact with over to Skype 6 years ago. I just refuse to use out of date antiquated tools.

I use Trillian and it ROCKS - http://www.filehorse.com/download-trillian/
