5 Clear Signs Hillary Clinton Will Run For President in 2016

Now that the second inauguration is under President Barack Obama's belt, political junkies can't help but speculate on the next presidential race in 2016.

Hillary Clinton's recent appearances, along with those of her family, have done nothing to quiet the chatter surrounding her potential run for president in 2016. Instead, they've fueled the flames of speculation around whether she'll make a run for the white house.

Here are five reasons why a Hillary for president in 2016 campaign is pretty much a done deal. http://www.policymic.com/articles/24...sident-in-2016

It's still all speculation at this point. If she wants it, I don't see any reason why she wouldn't. The GOP has NO challenger to go up against her.

She won't run, she said she's done with politics and why she is leaving her current post.

kane 01-26-2013 10:52 PM

The main thing, I think, that could keep her from running is her age. She is 65 now so she will be 68 when it comes time to start her campaign and having gone through it some herself and twice with Bill she knows just how much of a grind that can be. She also had a recent health scare. She might decide it is just time to relax.

As for the republicans not having anyone. I would never count them out. Chris Christie could run and I think he has the potential to be a strong candidate. Rubio could run in an effort to rebrand the party as young and inclusive. I don't know that Rubio can win, but he could be a challenge to defeat.

Never underestimate the ability of a political party to either rebrand itself or repackage all the crap they have spewed over the years and use it to get people to vote for them. The republicans are actively making it harder for democrats to win some states like Virginia so I would never count them as out.

America elected Reagan twice, doubt age would prevent her from getting the nomination. I do think though Americans aren't going to go for a loud mouth, obese Newjersian however. And he's too independent, GOP will have to rein him in

I don't think age will stop people from voting for her, I think it might make her not run.

As for Christie, I think a lot of people would vote for him because he is different (or at least appears different). The problem he would have is getting out of the primaries. Since he doesn't appear to be a right wing lunatic it would be difficult for him to win the republican nomination.

Hasn't she previously said that if Chelsea has kids she's going to become a full time grandma? I personally think she is worn out. She is the most traveled (by far) secretary of state and is no spring chicken.

I get that some people cannot see themselves retiring, but I don't know... I do wonder if she'd slip into grandma mode if Chelsea gets pregnant.

Or she could just be giving lip service to throw people off. Both her and her party is happy with Obama, and Obama is happy with her, so I don't see why she would keep any presidential aspirations under wraps.

He can get lap band and be tamed. It's amazing what you'll do when you can get the top job in the world.

She is aging to fast and will be to old :2 cents:

But she would be an upgrade to what we have now...

That was my only concern, too. But I think Hillary is so ambitious that becoming the 1st female POTUS is something she'll want to do before she dies - especially since it's practically in the palm of her hand.

Well, having a viable alternative to Hillary and gaming the system are two different things. I'm not saying they can't possibly win in 2016, just that they have nobody to run with the star power she has. They have nobody of her caliber. Nobody who can beat her fairly. In fact, the GOP brand is so putrid they'd have a hard time winning dog catcher lately - which is exactly why they're working on the underhanded new rules you mention. The GOP truly is the party of rich, old, white, straight, angry men (and some religious lunatics, and some poor dupes who think Faux Newz is for real). And there just aren't enough of those people left to win elections anymore. So they have to figure out how to steal them.

Because the bombardment against her from the opposition would commence immediately.

It would make no sense at all for her to declare this early.

Funny post, Obama's last campaign was the dirtiest in history. If anyone has ever stole an election it would be him combined with the liberal media. I agree Republicans need to make some serious changes and get with the times.

I guess you were blind to the dirty campaign ads since you were one of the people spreading the bullshit. I don't understand why they continue to allow smear campaigns and outright lies for any election.

"GOP bitches" "gun nuts" the narrow focused hatred you constantly display for those with opinions that differ from your own is astounding. Have you tried therapy? Going through life this bitter can't be healthy.

It will be difficult for just about any republican to win the white house right now, but in three years a lot could change. If the economy isn't doing well a lot of people might be willing to try something different.

The big problem the republicans have is that the electoral map now works against them which is why they are gerrymandering the states that they can in order to put those states back in play.

A guy like Christie is the only republican out there right now who could change the electoral map. He could, potentially, put New Jersey in play. If he wins NJ and the republicans' gerrymandering efforts in Virginia, Ohio and Pennsylvania that is enough for them to flip the map and win he white house.

That is a tall order to pull off partly because the democrats are not just sitting around doing nothing. They are actually working hard to gain favor in some red states and some of the light blue states that recently flipped to them. Also, if it is Hilary that is the democrat, she could win Arkansas where she and Bill still have roots. Bill won some southern states so he and Hilary could put them in play.

As I say, it won't be easy for any republican. They are quickly becoming an outdated party, but when it comes to presidential elections it becomes less about party and more about the individual and how you can manipulate the electoral map.

Dirty campaign ads happen EVERY election and they come from ALL candidates or their surrogates.

So that's how you figure Obama "stole" the election? :1orglaugh

And I didn't spread any bullshit. When an opponent is as dirty as Mittens, there really isn't even a need to.

Yes, which honestly is fucking amazing to me. I'm not used to seeing Dems do anything but throw elections. I like seeing them wanting to win.

I don't think so. She's in generally good health now - her blood clot has been resolved. And we saw at the recent Bengazi hearing that she's still got a very sharp mind (and tongue).

I think she's going to go for it.
