Revenge?

You submit to some guy's directory. The guy accepts your sites. You start to send him lots of traffic (footer reciprocal link). The guy starts promoting the same stuff as you do on your sites (ref links in footer, too) and bans you from his directory. He magically discovers them right after he approves your sites but does not sign up under you. Ssh port on his server is open. You know the port number (nmap). Root user is not disabled. Hydra knows the password. Would you fuck him up?

The best revenge is living well through the wisdom of Jesus Christ.

Do two wrongs make a right?

Take it as a learning lesson and move on. Channel your energy into making money elsewhere.

While I do agree that two wrongs don't make a right, I truly believe when you have an opportunity to take your enemy down especially in business, you do it because he might not offer you the same courtesy that you showed him.

Mercy is for the weak and/or the democrats :)

Just sit on it for a day and see how you will feel about it.

More often than not, I would take the high road.

However, if he were trying to pull a fast one, and I was cheesed off enough, I would certainly be tempted. Did he otherwise handle himself ethically, messaging you that your links were delisted, or did they just disappear with no explanation (ie hoping that you would not notice and continue to send traffic while getting nothing in return)? I'm not proud of it, but that would probably influence my decision.

To the contrary - mercy doesn't denote weakness.

As you grow older, you understand the wisdom in mercy. It is mightiest in the mightiest.
