Just realized I have never been in economy class of an airplane.
 

How scary is in there? Do they serve real food or in little squeeze out containers?
I have been in business twice but find it a bit too small and claustrophobic. First class is the only one I fly on commercial flights.

I have only traveled economy as a child, with parents.

As an adult, Ive always gone biz class between the UK and USA on Virgin Atlantic, and on one delightful occasion, being as I traveled regualy, I got bumped up to 1st Class for the trip over !

Very agreeable, but not sure if I could justify the extra cost if I were still flying back and forth.

Class update price is not justified. Speaking about international flights I would pay +10% or +20% extra for better class but thats about it. I would definitely not pay double, I would better spend that extra on one week paid vacation instead of 8 hours of more comfortable seating.
Price is justified only for those that have so much money the do not know alternative (and much better) ways to spend it or for business people that need to be "fresh" once arrived. For the rest of the people - price is not justified.
