Dude, I despise both Republicans and Democrats, I can never see voting anything but libertarian.... But I do watch what makes big news that lasts a long time, and what passes quickly and quietly by without many waves. If you haven't noticed this kind of thing, then you may want to consider widening your choices of news outlet to include as many different ones as possible. It's an interesting pattern to watch....

Age of consent oddly enough in DR is 18!

Here in the U.S. the majority of states have the age of consent at 16 and even 15 and always has been.

The only reason they can't shoot porn at 16 is because they can't legally sign a contract until they are an "adult".

I couldn't care less about him sleeping with a prostitute. I DO CARE about him sleeping with someone that is underage. Adults should be free to do whatever as long as you don't harm someone else or their property. A child, (however that is defined), is not yet capable of making that choice and should be protected. There is a major problem in the world with underage girls being used as sex slaves and that is something that no libertarian is ok with...

I did not see this reported and I read three stories. The guy has a good PR guy running around. I did see that prostitution is legal there.
Also someone fixed the Dr's tax problem a few years earlier.

Age of consent is 16 in most of the USA. I never knew this.

it's all a matter of society standards - the legal age for prostitution in Switzerland is 16 and you would hardly call Switzerland a third world country...

The U.S. local, state, and federal govt. has so many "moral" and religious laws on the books..and yet we are the country that commits the most sexual crimes as well as consumes the most porn.
