That GoDaddy commercial is disgusting
I can't even look at the TV. The closeup. The audio.
:throwup |
Yeap, most ads were low quality and lame..

It's nice to see Superbowl ads trending toward being more sexy again. Ever since Nipplegate, 90% of the commercials involved some kind of violence -- just to keep it safe for the family viewers. Here's a guy getting smashed in the face with a canoe so you don't have to worry about those big black nipples terrorizing you again.

That one was horrible. The sound effects really made it unwatchable. I think all of the Super Bowl commercials sucked.
|
i always thought CGI would make movies & commercials better, as creators could expand the limits of what they could do. instead the opposite has happened, & commercials simply try to provide trivial visual stimuli instead of selling products & their benefits to the viewer. marketing 101 has died.

The best Super Bowl commercials were the Old Spice - Poker Face and Irresistible! They are both brilliant!

There were some pretty decent ads this year. This one was my favorite.
Old Spice always has something funny... I'm not religious and I don't think about farmers too much... but this was awesome. I know the girl who produced the Calvin Klein ad, and I'm always shocked when she tells me how much those things cost. It's just a guy in his underwear. How the fuck does it cost so many millions of dollars to produce? I'm sure there's someone here who could shoot the same bullshit for a fraction of the price and it would look just as good. |
I thought it was a lame year for commercials. I can't even recall a favorite commercial because none of them were memorable at all. Then the game itself was terrible until the 2nd half. Overall a mediocre super bowl year I think.

The Durex ad that was rejected by CBS was the smartest marketing move. They knew it wouldn't be shown, smart marketing got the video viral on the Internet. More eyes for absolutely no money.
|
For all the money they spent on that ad for GoDaddy, they could have just licensed the footage of LC getting butt-fucked by Lanni for a lot less and it would have had the same 'gross' factor to it.

Apparently the 34 year old actor, Jesse Heiman, is a high in-demand "Extra" in TV and Films:

Looks like it was effective even though everybody hated it....
.http://mashable.com/2013/02/05/go-da...ay-super-bowl/ "Go Daddy Posts Biggest Sales Day in History After Super Bowl Ads Run Love 'em or hate 'em, you have to admit Go Daddy's Super Bowl ads are effective. The company on Tuesday reported that the Monday after the game was its biggest sales day in company history. The company provided Mashable with the following stats that illustrate a big increase over the comparable day in 2012: Hosting sales jumped 45%. Dot-com domain sales rose 40%. New mobile customers increased by 35%. The company added 10,000 customers in total. Go Daddy, a Super Bowl advertiser for the past nine years, ran two ads during the game, including "Perfect Match," which featured supermodel Bar Refaeli making out with a nerdy-looking guy and "YourBigIdea.co," which showed entrepreneurs across the world coming up with ideas though only one acts fast and secures a .co domain name. created the ads. Despite Go Daddy's success, viewers didn't seem to like the ads: "The Perfect Match" spot scored dead last in USA Today's Ad Meter." .:2 cents: |
The commercial caused tons of social media buzz
