Technically what you have shown is a wheel. The rim is the outer portion of the wheel onto which the tire mounts.

StickyGreen 02-07-2013 06:08 PM

They're wack...

AllAboutCams 02-07-2013 06:09 PM

Not bad i normally like all black rims

Some Guy 02-07-2013 06:09 PM

Fuck that! Get some spinners. They're all the rage. You'll be the coolest guy in town, I tell ya.

mineistaken 02-07-2013 06:31 PM

pretty good, better than lets say 75% wheels on CLK's

Most important thing - asks somebody to photoshop them into your (or at least any) CLK for better image.

Haha, I think I'll end up getting these ones in a 18" nothing crazy.

some of you are making me second guess this. I know whatever "wheels" I get they will have to be oem.

Design is cool but I hate chrome on wheels (or anywhere else) unless the car is from the 1950s. Not only does it look bad, but it's heavy - and that's the last thing you want if you value performance.

Thumbs down.

I don't think they are chrome, I'm pretty sure its a black and alloy mix.

Nice ride... in my country that car would be around $400,000 :thumbsup

Choopa Phil 02-08-2013 08:34 AM

Theyre definitely not bad wheels, but theyre not great either. I think for that car you can definitely do better. It all depends on the price tho and if YOU like them.

Not worried about the money as much as them being made by Mercedes. Last wheels I got on a diff benz that were not oem were nothing but a pain.

These are not AMG so the price isn't bad.

All depends on the brand with wheels. You get what you pay for. If you spend 2k on rims, expect them to last as long as 2k rims. Get yourself some nice custom 3 piece rims and you shouldnt have issues but they also cost 3x the price as a 1 piece cast wheel

For 2000$ in US you can buy very quality decent brand wheels, especially in the states where they are cheaper. Of course we are talking about normal size 15-18inch, not some 20 inches :)

Not really, you are just spitting stereotype that is popular in your country. Thats fact. I mean no decent person likes MB in your country? Yeah, right. :2 cents:

For 2k youre going to get a 1 piece cast wheel youre not going to get anything better than that. a 2 or 3 piece wheel will run you 2500-3000 for the rims alone. there is a huge difference in strength and weight between a 1 piece cast and 2 or 3 piece forged wheel.

I do not dispute the fact. I am one of those many people who can enjoy 1 piece cast wheels very very well.
2 or 3 pieces are for serious drivers who wants to have everything perfect and squeeze the maximum. Most regular driver would not feel difference.

Yes but you dont put 1 piece cast wheels on a mercedez. On a Nissan or Toyota its fine but on a luxury car or any car for that matter the wheels make or break it.

Ah ok, used once that are 10 years old and in good condition (but with milage under the hood) are around $50K here.

I thought it was new hehe. But we have insane car prices lol

10 year old "regular" MB is a luxury car? These goes for 6K Eur plus in Europe right now (not sure how much in the states, but usually cars, even German, are cheaper there).
Original wheels on that benz were 1 piece ... At least 90% of those MB's run on 1 peace wheels.. There is absolutely no need for 2 or 3 peace. Of course to each his own, but your point of view is not a norm, rather the exception.
2 cents :)

They stopped making the clk version It's not 10 years old yet, But isn't far away either. I got it with about 94K miles on it. The old one I drove I put about 250K miles on it and still runs perfect.

Im talking about aftermarket 1 piece cast wheels, OEM wheels are the exception. Youd be hard pressed to find 1 piece cast rims that are of OEM quality in an aftermarket Wheel and if you do theyre most likely racing wheels and cold casted. Its a luxury car regardless, you dont put pep boy/ebay special 1 piece cast wheels on it, thats the point in trying to make :) :thumbsup

The_Peeper 02-08-2013 09:54 AM

what about going OEM+ , example the CLK AMG wheels? They are already made to flow well with the car. :2 cents:
