Is 'Blizzard Nemo' the next hurricane Irene? It?s been a long time since New York had a really big winter storm, but one is on the way.

I'm way up here in Maine and it just started snowing pretty hard. It's times like this I'm glad I work from home and don't have to drive!

Jman 02-08-2013 08:01 AM

Routine winter day up here in Canadia ;)

Choopa_Pardo 02-08-2013 08:04 AM

Should be interesting. Hudson County is going to be a nightmare place.

how much snow is being expected?

Scott McD 02-08-2013 09:25 AM

I'd dread to think how the UK would deal with that much snow forecast.

We grind to a halt with 1cm of snow. Every damn year...

They're predicting up to three feet now in some places. Ugh. I can't wait to move back out west.

:(

We are at about 12 inches now in Ontario, and its still falling. And wouldn't you know it, batteries on the tractor are flat. Looks like delayed snow blowing for me.

Tom_PM 02-08-2013 09:51 AM

I'm sure for some areas it'll be a lot more than normal, but hell we've already had snow as high as car door handles this season. Stay safe.

fitzmulti 02-08-2013 09:53 AM

Shawing!

Hailing in Brooklyn

crockett 02-08-2013 02:50 PM

I'm in MA and it's been snowing for a few hours now and my power is still on. This is a good sign, because every major storm we have had since I moved up here my power has gone out with in 2 hours.

I've made it past the 2 hour point, so I hereby declare this storm just a summer breeze and nothing but a big media hype job..

Juicy D. Links 02-08-2013 04:42 PM

F-U-Jimmy 02-08-2013 09:17 PM

Started in Waterville Maine about 8 pm and we have about 3 inches so far. Forcast is for 12 more hours at 1-3 inches an hour. Could be fun driving tomorrow ???

Rochard 02-08-2013 09:36 PM

I haven't seen snow in about twenty years. I'm good with that.

You're in Waterville? I'm sorry.

:winkwink:

I'm up here in Bangor and it started snowing around 8:00 pm as well. I kind of expected it to be snowing a bit harder than it is, honestly. I'm sure it'll pick up within the next few hours.

crockett 02-09-2013 08:47 AM

Fuck there is a lot of snow out side.

SilentKnight 02-09-2013 09:27 AM

Just got in a short time ago from snow-blowing the driveway for the third time so far. Two tanks of gas in the blower.

But at least the snow has stopped here in Niagara. But another system's on the way early next week I hear.

Damn glad I sank $1700 on a blower a few years back. Worth its weight in gold lately.

CyberHustler 02-09-2013 09:54 AM

Its already all melting away

More than 5,000 flights were cancelled since Friday, and at its height, the storm shut down all rail traffic from Philadelphia to Boston. A potentially record-breaking snow storm has brought the US northeast to a grinding halt and left nine dead. :(
