Opening really big CSV file - Any ideas?

Its about 1.5 gig and I have tried a few things but nothing - I think there is an error in there somewhere - I only want to see what format it is in so I can import it into a mySQL db.

Any ideas how I can just open parts of it or split it into chunks without opening it?

I have tried CSVed as well and even that wont touch it.

Thanks

The one I've used is GSplit 3 and it's seemed to work fine on anything I've tried to split and open (files much larger than 1.5 GB).

That was a bit misleading - I need to do a lot more with it locally now I know how it is formatted.
