Are you super smart?

Then answer this puzzle I've been trying to figure out since last night.

The day before yesterday, Johnny was 9 years old. Next year he'll be 12. How is this possible?

seeandsee 02-21-2013 09:08 AM

today is JAN 1. 2013 and he is born on '31. DEC'

30 DEC 2012 = 9years (day before yesterday)
31 DEC 2012 = 10years
31 DEC 2013 = 11years
'next year' 31 DEC 2014 'he will have 12years' :)

cthulhu_waves 02-21-2013 09:15 AM

LOL brilliant.

Here's another one:
A bus full of people is traveling over a bridge on its way to Las vegas. No one gets on or off, but when the bus reaches the other side, there's not a single person on the bus. How can this be possible?

They are all couples. There wasn't a SINGLE person on the bus to begin with.

Here's a classic one...

A judge tells a condemned prisoner that he will be hanged at noon on one weekday in the following week but that the execution will be a surprise to the prisoner. He will not know the day of the hanging until the executioner knocks on his cell door at noon that day.

Having reflected on his sentence, the prisoner draws the conclusion that he will not be hanged. Why?

No cheating with google.

if he knocks @ noon, he's already late for the execution:2 cents:

No, because he can just as easily knock before noon

well it would not be Friday or he would know and it would not be a surprise. Probably reasons for the other days

Hmm, let's see..
If the prisoner expects to be hanged tomorrow, regardless what day it is, then the hanging wouldn't be a surprise to him. But imho that's irrelevant, just because the hanging per se will take place even if the prisoner isn't surprised.
Surprise, surprise. The prisoner is an idiot.

I'm with you on this one. After hearing that its wrong.. I cheated and googled the answer, which is retarded. You can't be hanged at noon if you are being notified that you are being hanged at the exact same time.

Good try, but can't be. "Not a single person on the bus" is not the same as "there are no single persons on the bus".

Some people are riding in a car. They consist of a mother, father, brother, sister, son, daughter, niece, nephew, aunt, uncle, and two cousins. What is the minimum number of people that can be in the car?
