Detroit also has the dubious distinction as being the #1 city for urban exploration photography (abandoned buildings).

Pretty sure I'll be leaving Chicago in 1-2 years for Tampa or Orlando. Sick of cold & traffic, takes me 45-50 minutes to drive 9 miles, crime hasn't affected me as it stays pretty isolated in certain areas where I don't live.
|
Los Angeles is not on the list?
Bullshit. :1orglaugh |

Heh, wow. I always thought the Detroit reference was a joke.. I guess not so much :(
|
Not at all surprised to see Vallejo, Modesto and Stockton on that list. They were so-so places at best, then the Great Recession turned them to shit.

Ever been to Detroit? I drove down there last summer to go an office furniture manufacturer's factory. It was near where the riots started in 1967; 40+ years later there were still empty lots there. |

This just can not be true.
The unions run Detroit. And we have all been told that unions make life so much better. So this story must be another blatant lie by the extreme right wing nut jobs. Get GrantMercury in this thread...he'll get it straightened out. |
Did you know that in 1980 Pastor Jacob Yasso, right, of Detroit's Sacred Heart Parish traveled to Iraq to give the keys to the city of Detroit to Saddam Hussein?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iran%E2%80%93Iraq_War Yeah, funny how things changed when we decided (all by ourselves) that Kuwait was not part of country of Iraq and told Kuwait to pump oil off disputed land and sell it to us below OPEC price as we had them fly American flags on their tankers while we had actually agreed to buy oil from Iraq as they helped us stamp out Muslim Extremist in Iran (8 year war) after we got our hostages back. Just ask The First George Bush how that went down. America : We're consistent! :1orglaugh |

The UAW and the Management of the Auto Companies both had shit for brains -- they all went down together. |
