DoE propaganda film:
I've been to Hiroshima and personally met "Hibakusha" (A-bomb survivors), and later sponsored some of them (as well as a group of Atomic Veterans) to speak at my college campus back when I was the Lectures and Forums chairperson in the student government.
I believe preventing the spread of nuclear arms, coupled with education and peaceful direct action, will hopefully lead to meaningful disarmament someday, and help us avoid even worse future tragedies.
Thousands of US military personnel and civilians have been exposed to dangerous levels of radiation, that is still affecting their health today. Unfortunately, many have been unable or have found it extremely difficult to get assistance.
There are some good people active trying to do something to address the issues of the Atomic Veterans:
Neil Ambercrombie is now Governor of Hawaii (I knew him when he was a young hippie in Hawaii decades ago, lol).
