i'm still crying with laughter after reading this on a religion form.

The thread starter thinks he's discovered a major flaw in the theory of evolution. He states that cave drawings of dinosaurs have been found, so that means humans were alive at the same time as dinosaurs which throws evolution out the window and brings us back to Creation.

Not surprising, religions have always been attracting less intelligent people.

Christians are the second dumbest btw, right after the towelheads.

I went through a religious phase in my late teens but have since developed a cooled-off contempt for religion. Church can be a place to meet people but it doesn't really mesh well with adult.

Religion is necessary for evolution, it's required to occupy the mind of a species until it's strong enough to grasp concepts of science and the real forces behind celestial bodies. :2 cents:

Someone should point out to him that dragons have been depicted for centuries, even millennia, across multiple cultures. There is no physical proof of a dragon ever existing, but according to this fella's scientific process, dragons were real.

Most churches are marketers, have you ever heard of a church that says "No, it's better if you keep your money"?..

Church is a place for family/life values and other things like coping with the inevitability of death, but pushing that in the real world and saying that your religion is better than another or that you just "Found the truth" is bullshit.. No one knows so stop trying.. :2 cents:

Religion is a magnet for the weak-minded.

I'm a firm believer that religion and the notion of a 'supreme being' was created in the early days by men who realized that mankind would be incapable of ruling itself. They created the concept of religion and instilled a fear of reprisal from a 'supreme being' if man didn't attempt to follow a moral and ethical path.

As fucked up as religion is these days - I have to hand it to them...they did a creative job inventing it. The concept and intention was arguably good...the execution of it not-so-good. What may have started out as a good idea quickly grew in to a corrupted tool used against man...rather than for the greater good.

What I've never quite figured out is how so many in the world today remain deluded and can't see through the travesty and charade of religion and the idea of creationism.




And here we go again - the neverending evolution vs. creationism circular debate.

This is why I hate organized religion.

If you want to go on a quest for "truth", whatever it is, that's totally fine. Perfect. Explore.

Organized religion on the other hand says "Hey, Wait a sec friend! We've got all the answers right here! Forget your quest, come on in, bow to me and give me your money and I'll get you in to heaven. Cute young son you've got there btw..."

Organized religion keeps people stupid. They want to keep kids stupid by teaching creationism over evolution, and try their best to discredit science. Fuck them.

Teaching bullshit to the children and calling it "The Truth" should be against the law, and the idiot parents who allow this to happen should be arrested too.

:1orglaugh Dudes be living in a 2 sided world where everything is either one way or the other. I spent 9 years in a religious school as a kid and was taught evolution though.

Some of the most religious people around where I live are Amish.
They are taken out of school at 6th grade to work the farm.
No science classes of any sort.
It's ALL for GOD is what they're taught.....

I went to Catholic school. We were taught about the crucifixion, acted out the stations of the cross etc. It never upset me as it all just seemed so unreal and fictional. We were all so bored with the whole thing and had heard it so many times that I don't think we ever thought of the story with any empathy at all. He was some guy in a book who lived a life that had no relevance to ours at all. Extremely desensitized.

Fortunately, I am in a position where I never have to test this out in my own children.

What forum? I got to see dinosaur cave drawings. There's a wild chance they might be Mastodons, but that's a far cry from a dinosaur.

I think when slavery was invented when religion was invented. Told the slaves work hard today, you'll get you reward in the next life.
