Of all the world's supercar makers, none stretch the idea of an ultimate sports machine quite so far as Lamborghini. For its 50th anniversary, the Italian automaker has created its most bizarre car yet: Meet the Veneno, a $4 million alien craft that will be assembled for only three buyers who've already put down their deposits ? and being sold out before it goes into production is only a hint of the Veneno's speed.

Thanks to Internet leaks, we can say the car was built from the Aventador chassis, and uses a version of the 6.5-liter V-12 linked to a 7-speed automated manual transmission, good for a top speed of 220 mph. The three copies Lamborghini plans to build will have red, white, or green touches to match the Italian flag. We'll have more details and photos to share ahead of the Geneva Motor Show soon.

Lamborghini and others have understood that you can make a butt ugly car with silly details someone in the Middle East will buy it. The most absurdly priced the better.

I was driving next to a new Lamborghini on saturday. I look over sure enough some balding guy in mid life crisis. That's what I think of when I see those cars.

this car will be purchased by middle eastern oil barons to show off, and billionaires who need a new track car.

Ugly or not it will go like a stabbed rat. the Veneno might not look pretty, but it certainly looks fast.

actually I think if you dont like excess...its actually the people who dont spend their money thats the problem. that money they spend pays off people building it, and it gets taxed, and it goes right back into the economy

It's not about jealousy or price...

A Veyron has two engines and four turbos it's a marvel of engineering, a '61 Ferrari California costs 3 times as much as the Lambo but is one of the most beautiful cars ever made.


This lamborghini clearly caters for gold in the toilet and diamond encrusted iphone middle easterns, sorry for not sharing the taste of men sporting mustaches and tucking Armani Logo t-shirts in their high waisted pants.

4 mil is just a tad out of my price range.
