Name.com - DNS hijacking
I am on an email list for technologists in the NYC area and was told about name.com doing dns hijacking and subdomain redirecting. I did a search and came across this recent article.
http://www.destructuring.net/2013/02...r-to-name-com/ It seems if your domain name is registered with name.com and you are using there DNS service. If you do not go in and chance your *.yourdomain.com subdomain pointer to your main site. Your traffic for subdomain type-ins will be re-directed to name.com parked pages. Pretty shady business practice there. If you have your domains there. You should check... Here is a thread about it on webhosttalk. I know you arent supposed to link to other forums. But its not an adult webmaster forum competitor. Even though it is an old thread. It looks like the information is just really coming out about this now. http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?t=745628 If it is in violation please remove the link and dont ban me :) |
You're an idiot. Seriously. :2 cents:
