The traffic was decent and we converted pretty well, been experimenting with join pages and we believe we have found the right one.

You've never found the right one. There is always a change that can eek out a tiny bit more conversion. Join pages/paymnt pages/landers etc are never 'the right one'. Ever. Keep testing them using something like Google Experiments (free).
