I'm moving in with Mommy! Yay!
So my mom lost her job in '09. She's been unable to find another job. She's burned through her savings and retirement. I've been making her mortgage payment the last 2 years. The California housing market is so bad she is still upside down on her house. Enough is enough! I bought a new home with a separate living quarters for my mom, and will be moving her here to the Midwest with my family. I always thought it would be my kids fucking up and having to move back home, not my mom.

A friend of mine is in a similar situation... She's a widow, and her investments tanked shortly after she retired. The income she was planning on isn't there any longer, she couldn't get her old job back, and no one wants to a seventy one year old woman. Very sad really.

She's moving in with you. There is a big difference :) Take it from the guy who spent his life savings paying for my grandmother's care in nursing homes and moved back in with mommy for a while!

Doing that on International Women's Day :thumbsup

Sounds like you're doing the right thing and should be proud of yourself.
