Important Paxum News: Extended downtime scheduled for Saturday 8pm

Paxum Notice - Scheduled Server Maintenance; Saturday, March 9th 2013

On Saturday, March 9th 2013 8:00PM EST, Paxum's website will be undergoing extended server maintenance. During server maintenance the Paxum log-in and account control panel will be unavailable.

Due to the extended nature of the downtime, we advise all Paxum Account-Holders to complete any necessary transfers or transactions prior to the scheduled maintenance.

While the Paxum site log-in will be unavailable during scheduled maintenance, all Paxum prepaid Mastercards will continue to function normally, worldwide.

We appreciate your understanding while we make necessary upgrades and improvements to our system.

Sincerely,

The Paxum Team

You guys should have replaced the default server test page.

Thanks for the suggestion but we did that and with some of the changes we made we had to put this page up for just a bit longer and our downtime page will be back up :-)

shake 03-09-2013 08:31 PM

It would be a good idea to create a "Systems upgrades in progress" page or something like that, pretty easy to do. I'm sure at least a few people will see the default apache page and be worried.

:2 cents::2 cents:

Zeiss 03-09-2013 08:41 PM

Agreed. Btw, I suggest CentOS over Fedora, if you choose to go the RPM way rather than the Debian way. :thumbsup

There are ways to have configure servers where your customers dont have to have downtime.

Its not really migrating across 'Clouds'. But if you are utilizing a real 'Cloud' or what its really called. A virtual infrastructure using a hypervisor like vmware, citrix or microsoft. In the world of Finance with compliance etc, sometimes virtualization is not allowed on certain applications, but you can atleast be doing load balancing. There is just no reason that if you shut one server down your system is not up and running. This is some 1990's shit.. But yea. That is one way. For me. It just shows how behind technology in adult is. Especially for a company that holds peoples money, to not be invested in the latest technologies is another reason why I would not keep any money in a system like that. You have all this money invested but you have to be down for maintenance...seriously. I have nothing against paxum and it could be an excellent product. It is just adult in general as far as backend technology, still years behind.

pornmasta 03-10-2013 11:51 AM

don't worry, meanwhile money is still in motion...

I gotta say, although I like using Paxum, this 24 hours of downtime does not give me a warm and fuzzy feeling about keeping funds in Paxum.

I really can't imagine what sort of "system upgrade" takes 24+ hours.

I think everyone here is gun-shy about using any sort of payment system after the epass mess, and I'd think that Paxum would try to bend over backwards to alleviate our fears.

Chris 03-10-2013 05:44 PM

System is back up.

Chosen 03-10-2013 08:40 PM

Yeah, working fine here :thumbsup

DanS 03-11-2013 03:04 AM

Hi Chris,

trafficholder says they can not pay out paxum atm, since alot of paxums functionality is not available. When will this be fixed?

Regards,
Dan

Hello,

Paxum is working for me. I was able to log in, transfer funds from checking account to Paxum card and withdraw funds without issues.

Kind Regards,
Angelicion

Chris 03-11-2013 06:03 AM

Currently loading of the card is unavailable and it is being worked on. As always when we run into this issue - the card is still functioning properly at ATM's & POS.

Yes, unfortunately it seems that although Mastercard balance is now loading, transfers to and from the card are still affected. We apologize for the ongoing delay. We are working as quickly as possible to correct the issue.

I will update this thread as soon as I receive word from our tech team that everything is back to normal.

I still can not get a paxum payout from TrafficHolder Chris?

ls101 03-11-2013 08:30 PM

A while ago I transfer some funds and it was OK so I decided to transfer again just now and I cant imagine my funds went to pending charges instead of available balance.
