woj 03-11-2013 06:15 AM

not sure about that, what's wrong with just putting some music on?

signupdamnit 03-11-2013 06:21 AM

Ambient noise from the sound of pirates struggling as they are hung would definitely improve my productivity many fold. :upsidedow

Same here. I don't know why. It's so simple and kind of silly but i prefer it to nothing.

Going great man!!

:thumbsup:thumbsup Do it!

bronco67 03-11-2013 06:37 AM

Maybe the advice against listening to music loudly is good, but my music is meant to be played loud as fuck. I have to say I like the ambient sounds though.

AllAboutCams 03-11-2013 06:39 AM

I can't work with any tv or talking. I get too easily distracted and lost in what is being said

wehateporn 03-11-2013 06:54 AM

For me personally this stuff distracts me, I need fast music, interesting thread though!

Update: Wait, I didn't see I was allowed this at the same time as music, testing now.

Update 2: Nice, it has that feel that Alpha brain activity is being stimulated, like when I do a long motorway drive :thumbsup

I kind of like it too so long as it's quiet and in the background.

I work from home and I run movies in the background. If it's a movie I've seen before it's great; I can't do it with movies I haven't seen before because I pay too much attention to it. I just bought a DVD with six old James Bond movies on it; These are perfect because I've seen all of them a dozen times.

bronco67 03-11-2013 07:08 AM

I liked it much better when I had the noise barely audible. But I have to stream this all day? I wish I could download it.

Sid70 03-11-2013 07:08 AM

How bout dis?

wehateporn 03-11-2013 07:16 AM

Feels like this is working Mr Shap, but it could be placebo, I'll report back in 1 month

:thumbsup:thumbsup:thumbsup

DWB 03-11-2013 09:29 AM

Going to try it, thanks Shap. That mixed with some music may be alright.

grumpy 03-11-2013 12:20 PM

thats how i work, always have talk on my headphones ( comedy channels etc. )

Three.Thousand 03-11-2013 12:33 PM

Not for me. Death metal always put me in gear. All day, every day!

I *ALWAYS* have music on when I'm working. I can't seem to concentrate without it. I don't usually play death metal but I've got Slipnot, Rob Zombie, Sepultura, Saliva and other metal on my play list and its usually cranked to max when I really need to concentrate or meet a deadline. It works perfectly.

Then again at night, a little pink floyd or even some classical works for me too. It depends on my mood I guess.

Just background noise though won't do anything but distract me.

fuzebox 03-11-2013 01:15 PM

I couldn't work with this. Classic music is my goto when I need to focus and get some shit done.

Supz 03-11-2013 01:30 PM

dillonaire 03-11-2013 01:34 PM

It was a lil annoying at first, but then my ADD kicked in and I forgot about it and next thing you know im working and not even realizing im listening to this. Kinda cool.

I usually keep the news on in the other room to keep some kind of noise.

Scott McD 03-11-2013 01:42 PM

Hmmm, i gave it a few mins.

No way could i sit and have that on in the background for a great length of time...

demographics1 03-11-2013 01:43 PM

This one would drive me mad: simplynoise.com. Could work for you?

LeRoy 03-11-2013 01:48 PM

I need music... I live in LA and that's not something I'd listen to @ work

georgeyw 03-11-2013 03:08 PM

Definitely makes me feel like having a coffee.

Music, TV, movie etc all distract the hell out of me, this turned way down zeros out the other bs so I might keep it on for the day and see how it goes.

thanks

georgeyw 03-11-2013 04:19 PM

Well it was good but the 'Iiiii never really understood that' .... 'exxxpErienceeee' is starting to get on my nerves.

alias 03-11-2013 05:20 PM

Seems to work pretty well so far.

Poppy 03-11-2013 06:00 PM

Pretty sweet. Thanks Shap. I hope you and the fam are well.

I have some nice ambient music mixed in too.

grzepa 03-12-2013 02:40 PM

anyone hears "yeah yeah" repeating every couple of minutes ?

Socks 03-12-2013 03:21 PM

Since when did you have a need to be productive? ;)

Elli 03-12-2013 05:33 PM

What a cool idea! Going to give this a try :)

JayAllan 03-12-2013 08:27 PM

I love it :thumbsup Now I want to find more like this and create a 2 or 3 hour loop. :)

Elli 03-13-2013 11:39 AM

son of a gun but this works great! It really helps me tune out the house goings-on around me.
