Does anyone here get any excecise?

Starting last Sunday I've done this every day for 6 days: Several bong hits at my house, mountain-biked to Runyon Canyon Mulholland Dr. entrance (3.7 miles, 90% uphill and brutal), hiked Runyon Trail (3.5 miles intermediate hike), mountain-biked to Universal City LA Fitness (4.2 Miles), did 10 weight sets of 3 reps per set (increasing the weight 10-15 lbs per set), and then mountain-biked back to my house (.5 miles).

At 41 I feel better, healthier and stronger than when I was half my age. No steroids, no HGH needed.

You just need discipline.

I use steroids and GH, and exercise...

dynastoned 03-15-2013 09:57 PM

you must have already been in pretty good shape to jump off the bong and into that type of exercise right off the bat. i know i'd be dead the first week doing that and i'm relatively active.

shake 03-15-2013 10:28 PM

Yup Ride my mountain bike about twice a week. Keeps me healthy.

fitzmulti 03-15-2013 10:37 PM

I had to stop most exercise a little over a year ago...and am just now being able to start back up.
Mostly doing walking /treadmill, etc...not s'psed to run yet, really. Can't wait for the pool here to open back up, because I can definitely do some swimming now.

No, he takes the bong hits then does the routine. :pimp

dillonaire 03-15-2013 10:53 PM

I think of working out like brushing my teeth. Just daily maintenance. If im going to sit in front of a computer 9 - 12 hours most days I need to get my body moving and the sweat going at least once a day.

SomeCreep 03-15-2013 11:41 PM

Ive been exercising 5 days a week, every week for at least the past 5 years. Cardio 2 - 3 times per week. Weight training 3 - 4 times per week. Abs 1 - 2 times per week. If you wanna be healthy and fit, then healthy living has to be part of your lifestyle, not something you have to force yourself to do everyday.

Robbie 03-18-2013 10:54 AM

Work out at the gym 4 days a week.
And for the next couple of months I'm riding my bicycle to the gym (before it gets too hot here in Vegas) as well (about 2 miles each way)

Then of course I also do sport fucking and sport drinking on the weekends. :)

BlackCrayon 03-18-2013 10:54 AM

i'd imagine hitting the bong beforehand would put additional strain on your heart and slow you down.

I got the bike out last wednesday and did a 30 mile ride, with some pretty insane climbs. Other than that I get exercise every day walking my dog.

I go into a non-fitness mode during the winter. I just have to try really hard this year to start getting ready for summer earlier than I did last year.

stinkyfingers 03-18-2013 12:51 PM

definitely you got to get out and do something, anything. at least do some stretching in the morning :2 cents:

AmeliaG 03-18-2013 01:00 PM

I do an intermediate hike of varying length almost every day. For mental fitness, not just physical. I feel like it makes me sharper and happier. Sitting at a computer is so sedentary.

TurboAngel 03-18-2013 01:01 PM

Now that's a work out!

PR_Glen 03-18-2013 01:09 PM

heavy on the free weights, compound movements only which is a lot easier on the joints. I've been doing agility and speed work since the fall to prep for this summers activities so I can't wait for the warm weather to finally appear ;)

hurt the back a bit on saturday though.. need a few days off hehe

xNetworx 03-18-2013 01:17 PM

Sounds good man but give the body some rest time, more does not = better. 5 days a week should be plenty or split up your biking/lifting.

dillfly2000 03-18-2013 01:57 PM

I have to work out.

If I don't I feel shitty.

ajrocks 03-18-2013 02:07 PM

I felt great until I turned 41 now its getting harder and harder to work out. All the injuries from working out over the years are starting to haunt me now.

Vegas Ken 03-18-2013 02:18 PM

I finally found my way back to the gym too :)

"All the injuries from working out"?

What the hell man? What did you do to have multiple injuries in the gym? It's supposed to be healthy not harmful! lol

sperbonzo 03-18-2013 02:24 PM

Just completed my second tough mudder 2 weeks ago, and finished in the top 20 out of 1200, and it may get an invite to the toughest mudder 24hr race.

I'm starting training for the third one in May.

... Not too shabby for someone about to turn 50 that still likes his wine and cigars...

:)

If I didnt have a full time job... I'd spend my whole day exercising too.

But I get a bit of exercise a couple times a week. Many times I'll start and my kids just wanna jump on me to play.

Asparaguss 03-18-2013 02:24 PM

I workout yep.

I just stumbled across tough mudder over here and am going to enter. Looks like it would be a really tough event, however looking forward to it.

Well done on your top 20 placing, will see if I can simply finish :thumbsup

Was that top 20 overall or per age group?

EDIT :

@ OP - i've been doing exercise 6 days a week for the last ~6 months. Quit smoking and decided i'd lose weight and start the exercise to stay off the and it has worked (20+kg lost so far).

trevesty 03-18-2013 02:43 PM

I work out by handling my female GSD for about 30 minutes each day right now. With how intense she is, it's a hell of a work out. I get more tired/sore from that than I do when I do some cardio + weights.

Edit: Once it warms up, I'll do 15-20 mile bike rides each night. Like someone else mentioned, I kind of go into hibernation mode in the winter unfortunately.

You might want to give elliptical machines a try. I have a bit of a bum right knee and I find treadmill jogging too high impact for it.

Ellipticals on the other hand I find much better suited for my needs. Low impact for the joints and I find the workout better than stationary bikes. Put on headphones, favourite playlist and an hour goes by without you even noticing.

pornguy 03-18-2013 03:02 PM

6 days a week.

Nice!! Finishing in the top 20 is really moving thru the course.

I didnt keep track of my time but I know I was not in the top 20 thats for sure.

Sounds like a fun workout! I hate the weight gym but love cycling, boxing and karate. Would really love to do my first mudder this year

Imortyl Pussycat 03-18-2013 03:14 PM

Jillian Michaels kicked my ass for 50 min in my living room this morning. Just my mat and her vid is all I needed and I was gasping for air and sweating like I been running for my life for 2 hours. love her

It was top 20 overall. Did it in 2:19, but I was WAY behind the first place guy. Luckily I met a marathon runner at the start and we did it together. He paced me on the running and I helped him on the obstacles.

To train, I would recommend running every other day. Start at 3 miles and work up to 12 miles. (don't run the last week before the race). On the days in between running, do weight lifting with high reps, LOTS of chin ups, and explosive jumping exercises.

Super fun overall, and buy some really cheap shoes that you can throw away or donate at the end.

P. S. You will be bruised, scratched, gouged, stiff and sore for days afterwards, and on the electrical obstacles, don't go slow, just push through as fast as you can.

ENJOY!

:)

Well the one here is in September, so will definitely follow your advice about the running and weights.

Thanks for that, looking forward to it. When you say electrical, i'm wrong in thinking you get a shock ?

Oh and for the top 20 overall - big congratulations on that, blown away by that, you must be pretty damn fit.

Thanks, I've stayed in pretty good shape, but I think the two biggest factors have been that I've been a long distance runner since I was 14, and I've always been very very stubborn about giving in to pain.... :)

There are two obstacles involving electricity. One is the Electric Eel, with a rack about 2 feet high, 10 yards wide, and about 15 yards long. You have to low crawl on elbows and your belly in 4 inches of cold water, and hanging from the rack are hundreds of wires that are randomly giving out 10,000 watt shocks. (The amps are low, so it won't kill you)..... It HURTS at times. My tactic is to start cursing like a pissed off drunken sailor and just go through as fast as I can. If you go slowly you are only going to get shocked more often.

The second is called Electo-shock therapy. It happens right at the end of the course. Same as the first, except it's standing height, and you run through thick mud as you are going through the wires. The shocks may knock you down. Don't try to crawl through, it will only hit you in the head and hurt more. Just get back up and keep moving.

Those two obstacles, and the plunge/swim through ice water (called the chernobyl jaccuzzi), at the beginning of the course, are my least favorites.

It's all good though. :1orglaugh

Started Crossfit a couple weeks ago, brutal and I love it.

crockett 03-19-2013 04:38 AM

lol where the hell does several "bong hits" work into the discipline of getting in better shape?

Sorry but is this one of those new California exersise routines? :1orglaugh
