How many scenes has Porno Dan produced without an HIV/STD incident?

At least Dan should have plenty of people supporting him and decent legal representation.

If its anything about the case law that just passed in the Eu, it states your personal rights don't trump the general public rights. in other words if it endangers others while doing your job then you don't exactly have "freedom of speech" to express your religion.

No mention of whether X-Biz even made an effort to get a comment from Porno Dan, et al, over at Immoral Productions. I would expect that good journalism dictates that a reporter would at least ask for their perspective/reaction, in order to provide some balance to the article, and less of a Press Release for AHF (I presume Dan and Co., know about the complaint at this point, and as Dan is fairly outspoken, I would expect that he may have something to say about this).

Somehow, I suspect the response would be that doing porn in the first place is prohibited by Catholicism, as well. ;-)

Something must be wrong I don't see anywhere in the story where it said they tried reaching him/them for comment. Reporting at it's finest.

I suggested to Dan that he should get the hell out of California.

He worked the majority of his career based out of Maryland with zero problems.

But he always gives me the standard "California is the only state where it's legal to film porn" argument. Maybe he'll rethink that now. Dan's a good guy and this whole thing in Cali is insane.

Well, the good news is that the county doesn't even have to respond to the AHF's complaint in any way, so the identity of the accuser may never become relevant at all (legally speaking, at least).

I think that's a fairly likely outcome here, really; the county might just read the AHF's complaint, send something back that in effect says "Thanks. Duly noted; we will take this under advisement" and then the next time we hear about it will come when the AHF holds another press conference to bitch about the county doing nothing in response to their complaint.

Has the county even promulgated the final rules for compliance with Measure B, btw? Does anybody know?

That's what I was wondering - how much influence/authority the AHF has to do something based on an anonymous letter (if one even existed in the first place). So they're basically an advocacy group I'm assuming?

shimmy2 03-20-2013 04:41 PM

Yep, they're the advocacy group that circulated the petitions that started all of this in the first place, and that has spent millions of dollars on its campaign to establish mandatory condom use in porn as the law of the land. They're now trying to push the measure statewide across California, and have pledged to do the same across the country.

They've also filed to intervene in Vivid's lawsuit challenging Measure B (or the "Safer Sex in the Adult Film Industry Act" as it is now known), an application that Vivid's legal team is challenging.

The AHF definitely has some pull in L.A./California, and pretty deep pockets as well.

Catholics are allowed to use condoms.
But yeah, some fake dude could use this excuse, I mean it works in certain countries... You can do whatever you like as long your religion "requires" that. And political correct pussies comply.

How do you mean? Why would he?
Lets say you spot someone drunk driving, you anonymously tip the police, police catches him in the act and then you should "face that driver in a court of law"?
Not really, you would be merely somebody who gave a tip..

So now its up to if they will find the evidence or not.

This is shit if he used condom. If he did not use condoms then he broke the law hence making it not shit.

Unless you know 100% that he used condoms you can not claim "shit" for sure. :2 cents:

As for catching him first - somebody has to be first. Sometimes better guys get caught before worse guys.

Nope. Shooting porn is not "illegal".
It's only "legal" in California and one other state. But it's not "illegal" in any state. No law AGAINST it.

In other news...breathing air is not "legal" in any state. But it's not "illegal" either. Just like porn.

condom company money/gov donations and AHF is suing Los Angeles county right now BECAUSE LA held 1.7 mil in funding claiming they were falsely billed (fraud) by AHf for services and AHF is claiming that LA is fucking them around for putting measure b on the books...

As a non-profit, there are rules regarding how collected money is used. It might be worth someone checking into where the money is specifically coming from (i.e., ensure it is not grant money earmarked for AIDS treatment being using for political purposes), and if they are misusing any funds.

They have to file campaign expense reports too. FSC (or whomever's) lawyers should at least take a peek into things. Is Weinstein controlling the political activities by fiat? Is the money being collected/spent legally?

FSC/Manwin appear to know the name of the their enemy (AHF/Weinstein), but it appears that they do not truly "know" (understand) their enemy, which leaves them at a strategic/tactical disadvantage.

The AHF activists behind the political tactics are more than a nuisance, and they have effectively put the adult industry on the defensive. Instead of throwing money at defense only, the adult industry side should consider at least trying some offense as well to turn the tide, or at least to change the game.

Hit them where they are vulnerable:

Michael Weinstein

AIDS Healthcare Foundation IRS 990s; 2009 and 2010; and 2011

Salary: 2009 / 2010 / 2011 (Revenue)

$372,000 ($79.7M) / $370,000 ($97.2M) / $380,000 ($141.8M)

[Cumulative salary: $1,122,000]

Transparency grade: F. Zero 990s on-website.
That is just his income from AHF. Does anyone know if Weinstein has arrangements to syphon money or create political slush funds via "payments to consultants" (which might include himself or his boyfriend), or other organizations that he also controls?

What other payrolls is Weinstein on? If he is commingling private and public money, that could be a weak point.

The adult industry proponents should be enlisting people in the gay community too, since it appears that a lot of them are totally fed up with Weinstein's pompous grandstanding ways too:

Quote:

Out of the Closet and Aid Healthcare Foundation (AHF) are run by Michael Weinstein, the jackass behind LA County's Measure B (Condoms in porn mandate).

Weinstein is a hypocrite of the worst sort, paying himself $350,000 per year, having his young studmuffin "personal trainer" on the payroll of AHF, and wasting precious donations on other frivolous, extravagant items.

Think of the number of patients over a quarter million dollars a year could feed, provide meds, shelter, and comfort. Think of the research that goes undone for lack of dollars. Think of lives lost due to Weinstein's greed and myopia about an issue that is inflammatory, a waste of time (there has been one (1) case of alleged HIV transmission on a porn set -- and that was on a condom shoot!), and the worst kind of lining one's pockets at a great cause's expense.
Quote:

It is not standard practice to employ your significant other, especially in a non-profit arena. Also, we have doctors in the public health system that don't make the money Mr. Weinstein is drawing from funds that were supposed to go to services. I see Mr. Weinstein as another Dan Palotta- a guy with good intentions, but his outlandish ego gets the best of him.
Quote:

That's called nepotism. It's generally frowned upon in the professional world. Weinstein wasted over 4 million dollars on measure B. Measure B will have zero effect but to cost the county money defending it in court. Even if it stands, it will then only force the studies to move production out of the city. It also costs over 250K to put a float in the Rose Parade. What benefit does AHF get for it? This is a man whose ego is out of control while he controls the checkbook for a non-profit.
