Jim Morrison its like he is immortal. Could you imagine now the lizard king, fat and bald. OR Marilyn Monroe.Death at a young age gave their celebrity immortality.

Harsh thing to say, but honestly... some of those celebs who abused the shit out of substances and/or lived recklessly, didn't die "too young." It's just a question of time before you destroy yourself.

So they include Dan Wheldon, a Nascar driver age 33, but they don't include Ayrton Senna, F1 driver age 34?

Personally I had never heard of Dan Wheldon before.

I was thinking the same thing, and the ones who chose to take their own lives, obviously.

Yeah that's true, I know. These types of lists are always subjective like that. I just had the impression that Senna was more famous, outside of the US at least.

Dan Wheldon raced Indy, not NASCAR. The crash that killed him two years ago here in Las Vegas was quite spectacular.

They were all young, crazy, and on alcohol or drugs, or together, so wonder, but shame.. Almost all were great artists.

Wow it has been 15 years since Phil Hartman was killed by his missus.

Some very talented people died very young. For the most part it looks as though their fame and money pushed them over the edge...

People die young every single day.

Most aren't known.

Many of them were better than those people listed.

burns was awesome... when I first started working on stages I worked at a place where burns had his office... I'd see him around all the time... I go take a piss and he's be in a stall reading lines and stuff... :thumbsup

Hitting then dragging cockpit first down the catch fence at 200 mph ?. I watched when it happened, pretty tragic.

Today would have been Ayrton Senna's 53rd birthday.

RIP

If memory serves, it was days after Heath Ledger, so it was a bit overshadowed.

It's always uneasy watching the moments before the crash from the cockpit view because you know what's coming.

Same with the Senna one:



Horrific.

Ledger died in 2008. January I believe. Murphy died nearly 2 years later at the end of 2009.

Her death was all over the news, on TMZ, was posted about on GFY, several threads in fact. But it wasn't as big a deal as Ledger's death because she simply wasn't as big a star as he was, so it's quite likely a lot of people did not hear about her untimely demise.



Without looking at the list two guys I would have liked to have seen more from were:

Sam Kinison
John Candy


I don't know if either died "too young" but they certainly went before their time. I'd also have loved to have seen what other music John Lennon would have come up with through the 80's and 90's had he lived.
