South Korea - Hack or Illegal Software Use??
 

Asian news sources are reporting this may not be a hack at all but a Windows update yesterday causing all the hoopla.

Seems last year, Windows identified 21 servers of the South Korean military were pirated versions. They were asked to pay Microsoft $$x amount. Don't know the result of the request. But people are wondering if this is a widespread event due to piracy and Windows is just invalidating all the copies. Microsoft has a long history of jacking files and corrupting software on pirate machines used by non-Pros. I experienced this in late 90's.

Anyone else?

f windows if i wouldnt use photoshop i would go to linux. And yes when i was working in service many people was coming with pirated windows tried to update it and than update screwed their system.

To be clear, my point is not really about Koreans, ask any movie studio, record label, porn studio, any business producing products or IP, about rampant pirate issues with the Koreas...

But my point is do you believe a Microsoft reality (#2) or a potentially fabricated article (#1) that moves forward a political agenda?

Microsoft offers institutional pricing for large business and academia. There is no reason for SK to say they bought from third party except as an excuse for their buying it from shady sources or bootlegging the software themselves.

Perhaps the US does not want to offend anyone. I am just not sure.

This is why so many people believe in false flags, conspiracy theories etc...
