Beer.com sale was $2 million in cash plus $5 million in shares. The investors who sold Beer.com bought the domain in 1998 for under $100K. Nice profit and hopefully the shares are holding up

Out of these domains I would say it would be easy to make money with Israel.com and Toys.com

Mostly parked... So how good did they do?

ErectMedia 03-23-2013 04:16 PM

Been busy developing sites so haven't increased my domain collection but I still have 500+ aged mainstream domains. Sell one here and there in the x,xxx-xx,xxx range. Used to sell pretty frequently but been too busy so my sales have dropped due to lack of promotion.

Why would you pay ten million dollars for a domain. Buy a domain for $5 and drop five million into promoting it. Would go a lot further.

When I think back to my first domain names and how little I sold them for it almost makes me physically ill.

Legendary Samir - BANNED FOR LIFE 03-23-2013 05:26 PM

I thought niggagram.com was the most expensive domain.

I wish IŽd known about internet in 1994 - IŽd be rolling in money. I believe sex.com was first registered around that time.

One of the 90s big traffic domains are in my sig BTW...
