Why would that take a 2K laptop? It seems a $500 laptop would work perfectly for that.

pamon 03-28-2013 05:57 PM

copyrighting, writing, blogging, tube services, SEO and other services actually. Along with mainstream press releases, SEO article writing, SEO services, etc. Just thoughts. :)

dappz-datton 03-28-2013 05:59 PM

No- I tried to borrow a grand from someone on here once when I was really desperate because I owed money to a poker debt. That all worked out. I'm the one you tried to give $100 to when my bitch was sick and I would not take it, so after that you hated me, but actually you like me and don't want to admit that you like me. See.

You can buy a very very nice laptop brand new retail for well under $1000 and buy that same machine used for $400 .. Don't put yourself into debt, fuck it.

Failing that you could build a very powerful desktop for a few hundred

marlboroack 03-28-2013 06:31 PM

I'll buy you a laptop if you make me money.

ErectMedia 03-28-2013 07:11 PM

can get something decent for under $500

http://microcenter.com/
http://bestbuy.com
http://walmart.com

make profit, then go buy 2k machine :2 cents:

SuckOnThis 03-28-2013 07:16 PM

Will your step dad confiscate it when you can't come up with your share of the cable bill?

fatfoo 03-28-2013 07:17 PM

People are taking many loans. The power of the dollar could be more powerful than they thought it was. Man, some people wish they had extra $5 or extra $10. You want to borrow 2k. Promissory notes – those could be enforceable in court. Someone could even make you talk to a judge if you don’t pay back. You want to enhance services, that is what they all say. Some just wish they could stop wasting many in stupid ways. Stupidity is often the problem there. They could be accused of wasting precious resources.

kane 03-28-2013 07:21 PM

Not too long ago I got a 17" HP G7 with 4gig of ram, 500gb hd, AMD 2.5ghz processor and Blue Ray player for about $340. I got a great deal because it was on sale and my brother's wife worked then and got an additional 15% off, but still, the sale price was under $400.

It does everything I need it to do.

kane 03-28-2013 07:22 PM

Holy shit! Fatfoo!!!!!!

StinkyPink 03-30-2013 09:16 AM

Funny you guys think he needs a 2k laptop, but seem to think "expanding your services" has no cost. Maybe he doesnt want to disclose publicly, his entire expansion plan. However, if you want to loan him the money, message him and ask what his plans are exactly, and how he plans to pay back in this amount of time. Almost like none of you have any business sense whatsoever.

Yes cause it makes excellent business sense to give some guy on a message board 2 grand who obviously has very little disposable income and no/bad credit otherwise he would put it on a credit card. Your suggestion of asking him a series of questions giving him the opportunity to bullshit you further is wonderful business advice.

My lack of business sense tells me this?

I can go to Amazon, HP, Walmart, Best Buy, Dell, and a dozen other places and get financing. Anything between 6 and 12 months of no interest and no payments. That's what I would do and that's what anyone should do. Now, if any of the dozen (or more) available creditors will not give this person financing, that tells me something is up with his credit history. His willingness to offer a 50% return also makes me scratch my head. And lastly, the fact that he needs money and wants to go for the most expensive option is really quite strange. If he needs to buy a video machine, then he should provide that transparency, so as of right now we can only take him for what he says, a writer.

Everything above says this is a very bad idea.

But again, I have no clue what I'm talking about!

business must be booming if you can't afford to buy yourself a new laptop.

surely you'd be more likely and better off to just take out a finance deal with a laptop seller or get a credit card :/

Good point, retard. :1orglaugh:1orglaugh

Colmike9 03-30-2013 12:42 PM

If you have good credit, you can get a laptop for $50-200/month on a payment plan. Watch for the interest bs, though...

But if you're just copywriting/SEO/blogging/etc, why do you need a top of the line laptop? Do what I did and find yourself an old 90s rig from an alley and hack your Dreamcast until you can afford it. Or get a cheaper but faster desktop. Debt sucks.. :upsidedow

I think you should give him $2,000.00 and report back to us. You clearly have a unique perspective that serves you well in assessing risk... and have the strongest "business sense".

:2 cents:

KRosh 03-30-2013 06:43 PM

The easiest thing to do is go to www.prosper.com and get the money. It's also less expensive

PornoStar69 03-30-2013 07:25 PM

Someone gotta be broke as fuck

advice

1. rob a bank
2. payday loan

rowan 03-30-2013 08:32 PM

There's no leasing option available where you are?

2013 03-30-2013 08:34 PM

i would NOT do a payday loan just make some extra cash pushing programs on here and then buy one

StinkyPink 03-30-2013 08:49 PM

I never mentioned anything about risk, or whether you "should" loan the money... I simply stated that you all assume he wants a 2k laptop, just because he said 2k, doesn't mean he was going to spend the whole 2k on the laptop alone.... If he is expanding his services, he may need software, a few months hosting for whatever.... submitters or submit accounts... whatever his "expansions" are, they may not be free.

My point was that you guys can't read, and you all provided full evidence of such, with you're absurd comment.

"Looking to expand my services and need a new laptop."

:disgust

StinkyPink 03-30-2013 08:50 PM

Duplicate post.

StinkyPink 03-30-2013 08:56 PM

More dots... and commas, and commas, and dots.... and quite the long run on sentence, might as well but in some more dots, and commas....
