It's so funny to see how the same group of haters are in every Bitcoin thread

Going completely nuts while other people make tons of money :1orglaugh

I love it!

Dirty F 03-28-2013 06:01 PM

C.Carnato 03-28-2013 06:10 PM

Why so sad?

Deputy Chief Command 03-28-2013 06:46 PM

what kind of money are you making? do you care to post numbers?

what price did you get in? how much coins did you buy? and how are you making actual real money?

are you just using the number "if you would sell right now" and that is the money you are making?

or did you actually sell BTC at a huge profit already?

Haters gonna hate.

As an old time bitcoin miner from almost the beginning of bitcoins I turned out $700 worth of bitcoins (sold for cash) in the first month of GPU mining. From there I made around $2k cash over the next 3-4 months. Then the great bitcoin crash happened and I stopped mining and haven't messed with bitcoin since until a few weeks ago when I started mining again.

It uses the computational power of your GPU to solve "blocks" in the algorithm of mathy science stuff. You receive the bitcoins as a reward for solving the blocks. Almost everyone probably uses a pool so the bitcoin reward can be quite small once divided among all the miners... so like 0.0001 per block. I think larger pools solve about a block every 10 minutes.

I have a beefy i7 sitting here idle basically all day long. Should I fire up the mining? How do I get started?

The cpu is worthless. Even the gpu is by now. You'll make 10 cents a day with that computer.

I have a sweet graphics card but yeah okay that sounds pointless.

MikeRoth 03-28-2013 07:15 PM

yea, CPU is pointless, you'd spend $10 in electricity just to make 6 cents in bitcoins. I want to buy an ASIC miner but the shipping is so long I don't think it would be worth it since the difficulty will be so high by then.

EriktheRabbit 03-28-2013 08:23 PM

FTC + DOJ will soon be involved. Bitcoins are fun fr math geeks but try and cash out. Just wait for your accounts to be seized. There is a lot of paper work related to bitcoins. I am not a hater. How long before the bitcoins crying threads begin?

My accounts seized/frozen.
Nasty letter from tax agency, government, etc...

Anything made by a "hacker" and marketed by Russian mob with the intent of circumventing international commercial monetary system? You are fucking with Jews. Clusterfuck in Motion. LMFAO.

Also record the screen with fraps or something, so you can rewind if you miss something :)

You can do porn scenes with the BTC charts in the background to appeal to the bitcoin niche. 97% male.

I don't think many of them are actually consumers. At least not in the niches I'm in.

We ran a poll in every members area we have about 4 months ago asking if any of them would rather pay for their membership with bitcoins. The last option was "What is a bitcoin?" 100% of the votes on every site voted "What is a bitcoin?" Not one person choose otherwise, which was surprising.

The future may be different, but I think it's too new right now. Those promoting btc are doing so to raise awareness and to drive the hype. Once middle America Joe can easily open an account as easily as they can a Paypal account and really wrap their head around it, THEN I think you'll see a lot of married dudes using them for sites, especially for bi guys and taboo content that would bring shame to them if anyone found out.

It's different when you build sites aimed at Bitcoin users.
Which more and more people are doing.

Ofcourse your already existing sites won't get bitcoin traffic right now.

I was just curious how many of them knew about it. No doubt the right targeted mainstream site could do very well. People have to spend the coins somewhere besides gambling and drugs. I think it was a brilliant move for Namecheap and Wordpress to take them. Probably sites like Envato will get on board soon, along with every other web based B2B site. No brainer.

i still see no valid answer for the taxation problem...

MikeRoth 03-29-2013 04:32 AM

I thought I had read some people trying to do porn sites with bitcoins around a year ago on the bitcoin forums. I don't know if they ever did it or if it was just talk.

Althought maybe that was just people selling stolen login/passwords for bitcoins...

What is the problem exactly? Ask your accountant. I'm pretty sure he will explain to you how to get it working. It really won't be rocket science.
I truly think you are about the only person on the internet who won't touch it because your accountant might have some extra work.
You also don't accept other internet money like Paypal i assume?

In Paypal I send and receive real money - not digital fantasies

as long as bitcoins are not a real currency with a real exchange rate, there is no way that any tax office in any country will accept it

i really wonder if you ever filed taxes in your life

Wait, so Paypal is a real currency and Bitcoin is not?
And Bitcoin has an exchange rate. Have you bothered to read even 2 minutes about Bitcoin?

MaDalton 03-29-2013 04:57 AM

do i really have to explain Paypal to you or are you just trying to troll me?

and no, Bitcoin is no real currency - unless you explain my bank how i can add 10 bitcoins to my bank account that i bring them on a USB stick

You don't. You cash them out before you put them in your bank account. You realize that is possible right?
Somebody buys your content. Pays you 10 bitcoins, you wire the amount to your bank account.
Is this really so fucking hard for you to understand?
What does it tell you that you are the only person who think this is some kind of huge problem that makes it impossible to use bitcoins? Seriously, what does that tell you?

Dirty F 03-29-2013 05:05 AM

Let me make it even more easy for you:

Someone pays 500 through Paypal. You put it on your bank account and tell your accountant someone bought content from you.
