Pyongyang has ordered rocket units be put on standby to fire on US bases in the South Pacific. ?The time has come to settle accounts with the US imperialists in view of the prevailing situation,? North Korean leader declared, according to state media.

It follows a US B-2 flyover of South Korea that saw dummy ammunition dropped as part of a joint military drill Thursday.

The North Korean leader and army marshal Kim Jong-un declared that ?the revolutionary armed forces of the DPRK would react to the US nuclear blackmail with a merciless nuclear attack, and war of aggression with an all-out war of justice,? according to KCNA.

The decree placing the Strategic Rocket Force on standby was signed following an urgent meeting of the military command early Friday morning, according to North Korean media. The plan suggests that ballistic rockets would be permanently targeted at American military installations in the Pacific, including Hawaii and Guam, as well as those in South Korea.

Pyongyang also showed off the country?s military capabilities to its own citizens: On photos published in national newspaper Rodong, Kim Jong-un is signing a ready order at an emergency military meeting in what appears to be a military command room. In certain shots, a plan for a nuclear strike on the US mainland can be seen on a wall to the right of the North Korean leader.

And Russia is warning that this could get out of control

The North Korean situation could spiral out of control, Russia has warned, after another day of inflamed rhetoric from Pyongyang.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov warned of a "vicious circle" and told all sides to avoid unilateral action.

On Thursday, the North threatened to "settle accounts" and said it had put missiles on stand-by to hit the US.

The US, which flew stealth bombers over South Korea this month, condemned the North's "bellicose rhetoric".

Its not going to be that easy. Yeah, they have antiquated military hardware but if you think we are just going to go and invade them and take them over easily your nuts. Its a very sensitive issue especially considering China is their ally. It would become a complete bloodbath. We fought this war before and did not win.

What do you find so funny? If you actually spent some time and read about USA's past wars you would find that its not easily won by just carpet bombing a country and hoping you break their will to fight. One should consider the next N Korea war a fight much like we had with the Japanese. Sure, we could have invaded them and would have won. But at a cost of millions of lives. Except they have the ability to use atomic weapons. All we can hope for is this "kid" dictator is just bluffing to get USA and their allies to let up on their sanctions placed on their country.

There May be oil there just no one in there right mind would take advanced equipment up there to find the oil !

Really? Just like the "mother of all battles" with what was then the fourth largest military in the world? That was a joke. Twice. The first time we were nice about it and they didn't seem to understand how quickly they got their asses kicked. The second time around it was a full scale invasion, and the war ended in weeks. Both the Iraqi government and military completely collapsed.

North Korea is no different. Lots of manpower, no technology what so ever. They cannot even feed their own people; the US and other countries have been supplying NK with grain and basic food stocks for decades.

China is now moving away from NK as well, going so far as to support and vote for sanctions against NK. China is not stupid; They will not allow a nuclear war on their border and will not even accept NK threatening nuclear war like this.

I said this else where but IMO their stupid saber rattling has gone on long enough. Not only have they threatened to attack the Us & SK on numerous occasions they actually have attacked SK a few times. They have shelled SK territories and sunk S Korean ships.

The fact we have done nothing just lets them believe their own bull shit.

Personally I think we should send in a few stealth Bombers and start hitting random high priority targets that will embarrass their govt in front of the eyes of their people. We need to bitch slap them back a few feet and send them to the corner.

Most people i know in south korea don`t seem overly worried, this posturing has been going on for years. He does not even need nukes, he has enough conventional missiles to fuck up Seoul, Busan, etc. The Koreans are not to be fucked with though. The older generation anyway, they believe any day they could die from missiles, so who cares, they live for now.
