Computer Just Died...

One of our main computers in the office just died and it needs to be replaced, kinda caught us short, cash wise (happening at end of month when all bills have been paid).

Anyone need a cheap mainstream website (or two) building so I can get some cash in the door to get this machine replaced asap?

Check out our portfolio (in sig) and hit me up via email (contact @ pixelsquaredesigns.com ) if you need any mainstream site design work doing, quickly, cheaply and of a good quality.

Payments via Square, WePay, Paxum or possibly CCBill...

Just as an FYI, we wont touch anything WordPress related (too many headaches).

Limiting this offer to 3 sites max, turnaround time will be anywhere from 3-5 days depending on the site requirements, complexity and how soon you can get copy to us.

Have you ever tried explaining to a client how to edit stuff in WordPress, run updates or anything like that? Trust me, the 4 or 5 hour phone call is a headache when that time could be spent better elsewhere.

Not to mention clients constantly requiring the latest security updates, billing them for said update installs, etc... So yes, Wordpress does give us too many headaches.

Most people in the corporate world don't even know how to register a domain name and have to have us walk them through it...

I've taught caged zoo monkey's to use Wordpress.

If you want something very powerful for cheap Inusually recommend finding a good Dell T5400 on ebay. They are a littlw bit older but have server hardware. You can usually get a dual xeon with 8gb of ram or so for 250-300

Hope the pooter didn't suffer long. Know that it's in a better place now.

Wordpress is much harder do edit custom themes. Did you look at his portfolio? It looks like a bunch of edited html templates. A monkey at a zoo could teach someone how to make those.

sweetcuties 03-31-2013 05:03 PM

tokmansta 03-31-2013 05:27 PM

lazycash 03-31-2013 07:06 PM

Maybe you can gather some quick cash doing some cross sale cardbanging since you don't have a problem with that. Why ask us for help, we're all just a bunch of idiots.

ErectMedia 03-31-2013 07:28 PM

+1 :thumbsup

Most would have spare cash for emergencies regardless of the time of the month or a credit card to put it on unless they were an idiot internet failure :1orglaugh

Thats what corporate people want. Just went through this with a customer. Access to a ton of super creative designers in the end they wanted corporate and simple. :2 cents:

sometimes, not necessarily. One of our main clients is a marketing firm with hundreds of clients and we presented them with great looking sites and they wanted something more simple and boring in the belief simple and boring means business. We always insisted with something better, and after a somehow lengthy process, now they won't accept something like they requested a couple years ago and always request us to raise the bar even further. The last site we did for them is a cutting edge one to replace the crap they had, made by a cheap designer AFTER we provided them with a great design with lots of functionality and custom features. So you gotta educate clients.

On the WP subject, while the OP is clearly exaggerating, yes, we had mainstream clients that barely knows how to turn on the computer, just last month we had a client yelling because we didn't deliver some stationery, which we did several times wondering what was going on. After a couple weeks, I found out she didn't know how to open a zip file.

This being said, can't even imagine how editing some html or even worse, PHP files will be easier for a client than writing in a MS Word-like window. As a matter of fact, we offer all our clients WP just so they can add content easily
