To deprive the average citizen of the right to defend him or herself based on the false belief that the government can protect them!

"Police: Home Invasion Victim Shoots, Kills Intruder"

"PHILADELPHIA -

The victim of an early Sunday morning home invasion in Philadelphia shot at his intruders after a brief struggle, killing one of them, police said.

The home invasion was reported shortly before 1 a.m. Sunday at a home on the 1400 block of South 6th Street.

Police say 63-year-old Lee Heng told officers he had no choice but to open fire on two men who broke into his second story bathroom window around 1 a.m. Easter morning.

Heng was sleeping inside with his two children when the suspects broke in.

After a struggle with the two men, police say Heng got his gun and fired several shots, killing one of the suspects.

Surveillance video obtained by FOX 29 News shows the second suspect running away from the scene.

Police are still searching for the second suspect, who is described to be in his 30s with a medium build. Police say he was last seen wearing dark clothing.

"They've been here for a while since we moved on the block," neighbor Chan Chenh told FOX 29's Chris O'Connell. "Humble people, very hard working. It's a shame for a store owner to go through that."

The home invasion has the neighborhood talking.

"It's safe," Rosanne LaMassa said. "I've been living around here for over 44 years, never had a problem. But things happen no matter where you at."

The incident has at least one shop owner a block away from the shooting thinking about arming herself. She tells FOX 29 she now wants to get a gun.

Under Pennsylvania's Castle Doctrine, Heng most likely will not be charged, since he was defending his property. Since the gun was inside of his home, he's not required to have a permit.

Police have not released the identity of the suspect who was killed."
